We talked a bit about belt tension. I did some research and here are the problems and solutions:

Problem:

Ford # XL3V-8620-BA Like Bettina says "Too Short.."

Solution:

Gates # K080670 or NAPA 25-080670

Plenty of play both ways in the auto-tensioner and installation & removal are easily completed with no tensioner removal.

Maybe want to note this in your directions/Site.

Brian, you alluded to the fact that you may go to the track this weekend. VMP? Friday or Saturday? Jamie reshipped my wheels today from Cinci so they may get here by Friday so I wouldn't mind trying them out. Besides, my mother-in-law is in town so going half way across the state seems appealing .

I still cant get over you had a problem with your stock belt but I am glad you got it figured out. That was a first for me.

WHat I use (with ASP upper) was a NAPA GATES MICRO-V belt # 080660. Eight ribs,66 inches long.

Now go run some more 12's at full weight

I installed a brand new stock belt along with my pulley. I didn't have too much of a problem. Just turned the upper pulley with a ratchet while I installed the belt and it slipped right on.
