I reccomend JJ @ woodbine, he is in MD, and does an excellent job, and in my opinion is a much better tuner than JLP.

Yeah, someone who has been tuning Lightnings for almost 8 years now probably doesn't know what their doing...

No problems here, I've had a few different dyno tunes from JLP and am very satisfied.

Jon,

I did not say JL does not know what he is doing, I simply gave my opinion of who I feel is a better tuner, am I not entitled to give my opinion?

Whip,

You are incorrect, JJ makes his own tunes, and used to sell some of JL's products to people who needed more budget minded options.

the only reason im hesitant to go to jj at woodbine is he cant tune he said with diablo, i would have to pay 400$ to switch to sct x3 on top of like over 500 for tuning, i was hoping to stick with diablo like i already have...unless i happen to have someone just give me 400$ its not that easy to go spend almost 1000$ at a pop lol...thats why i asked who all has used JL and opinions, ive got a friend who used him and was happy, i just wanted other opinions...to hear the positives and negatives if there are any

You can't be serious. JLP, Johnny Lightning Performance? New to Lightnings?
Dude he's only got the fastest Lightning ever, manufactures and sells go-fast parts for Lightnings.

You're joking, right?

If you are set on using Diablo, then that would count out JJ, he only deals with SCT.

I am not going to say anything negative about JLP on this forum.......

Yes he is a spinoff for sure. He has the only eaton powered truck in the 10's, the fastest boost only whipple lightning that runs on the street, offers custom suspension kits, a proven motor program, made my H/D make 474 to the rear wheels on the stock block on a whipple and did all of this without any help from jlp. Switching to sct and having jj tune my truck would be a no brainer. jlp is a good guy but got too caught up in being johnny lightning. JMHO

Later...
Bruce

yep you are, but we prefer objective opinions, and you know your comment was not objective and you have a personal issue with JLP and had nothing to do with his question or jlp tuning skills. you know i nothing but love for you but come on guy

I used JLP for my first tune and was 100% happy. I met Sal from PSP and was impressed with his knowledge and switch to him and am 100% happy. both tune diablo

Johnny had my stock block magnum powers assisted lightning running 11.50's consistantly back in 2004 and most of 05 and the engine still runs. Race only truck never driven on the street with c16 in the tank. Needless to say it's had a hard life but still running strong. I almost forgot never been on a dyno READ THE PLUGS OLD SCHOOL. I also have a tune from Sal at power surge performance that's just as good just a little more agressive at the first part of the run then Johnnys but the tunes are with in a couple hunreths to each other.

haha.. i think you guys misunderstood mat's post.. sarcasm is lost on the internet. Anyway, I don't think you can really go wrong with having JL tune your truck. There are lots of good tuners out there, and I would consider JL to be one of tem.
