Wink How do I say this....

It was bound to happen. With 7500 coming out this year, this small of town. This town isn't big enough for two fast black trucks, so we had to have a showdown.

In the 99 corner...Sporting black trunks with 'major' rears...We have....

Tundra's straight piped 20th century era Ford Lightning, stock everything else, 1.5 sandbags + 1 passenger

In the 01 corner, also sporting black trunks, but with clear rears...

Another black Ford Lightning, of the 21st century era, equiped with a Superchip chip, stock airbox, with muffler, and two passengers. No sandbags.

In the far right lane, referring the race, my friend in the Silver SS.

It was a classic duel, both of us got perfect (equal) launches, his new tread vs. my 26.8k mile tread, mine didnt have as much new as his does now. Also, I looked at his tires, and we have the same ones! F-1 GS. He slowly inched away to 45 then the 1-2 shift came along and it was neck and neck again to my surprize. I slowly put a fender/ .5 fenders on him through 2nd, and a little of third, but then he started to inch on me again! Bu this time for good. We took it to about 120, and I knew he would keep on walking, at a very slow pace, thats when I decided to shut her down.

Now for the link to the file that I know none of you are going ot be able to download.

http://www.geocities.com/c10_396/99L01L.mov

I know its a dark movie, but when the lights are off, going at it full steam, you can just feel whats happening.

You know when a champ falls, there is always a rematch...

Round 2 later on tonight...(If I have time ) And the 01 fellows might no like what they are going to see in rounds 2 and 3, from a roll, as per request from the 01 corner...

You forgot to mention that the SS took the vicotory =) I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the 01L. I've read all the hype about them and after racing tundra several times I was expecting a very close race, maybe even a loss between the 01 and I. I did lose the first race against it because I got a really ****ty launch and then saw a cop while I was catching back up. The 3 way was my pay back. Guy was talking a little too much **** about beating my SS.

The race was neck and neck between tundra and the 01L. Something I don't thing any of us (01L owner included) expected.

Tundra,

Great choice in vehicles and food. Sorrento's (both locations) are among my all time favorite restaurants. Ate there as often as possible when I lived in and later visited Anchorage. Keep up the fun and don't get caught.

Later - Bob

How many miles on the Black '01? Mine is just starting to loosen up at 4k miles. They start out very tight, but then again most of you know that.

P.s. Link worked for me, but I use GoZilla! as my download manager. A must, especially for those who download a lot.

Hey thanks for the replies fellows, that was the closest race.

I dont work there, I think Akblack99 does, I have seen his truck there a lot too, but he wasnt there that night.

That was the closest race, and I forgot to ask how many miles he had on the truck. He wouldn't quit talking about his slick new chip though...

Round 2, coming right up, within the hour.
