Post Alarm system questions

I'm looking at putting a better alarm on my L and I was wondering how many of you have do so and what are your recommendations. Did any of you do it yourself? Were the instructions adequate? Also, anyone have a remote start on their truck? I was wondering if that was possible with the stock security system.

Thanks,
Adam

I prefer Clifford...don't let anybody sell you DEI and tell you that it's the same as Clifford...that's not true. DEI bought Clifford but they still manufacture the "Clifford" alarms to Clifford specs.

The dealer sells a Code alarm built for Ford. They warranty it with the vehicle. I also like the Code alarm CSM-2 auto start I ran it on my last truck. If you go aftermarket just make sure they tape and solder all connections. No side tap junk to come loose later on.

I am and have been using a Viper 550e since I got the truck. It has auto start, two sirens, power windows up/down and call com link. I have not had a problem yet (knock on wood) with the alarm or anyone messing with the truck. Lots of comments though on the autostart and the windows rolling down on their own, lol.
