'01 L owners in N. Dallas, Addison, Richardson, TX area?
I'm looking for an '01 L owner in the North Dallas, Addison, Richardson, Plano, TX area that would be willing to take me for a ride. I drove one yesterday, but I'd like to ride in one for more than 1 mile. 
I want to know if I will like it on a daily basis.

I bought mine without ever riding in one or even test driving it. You're lucky if they let you test drive one. I drove a 4wd Tahoe before and don't miss it a bit. This truck is a big chunk of crack rock mixed with testosterone. I am single so I don't have to carry much stuff. I don't plan on driving mine in the rain much...

you will like it a lot on a daily basis. it is a pleasure to live with easy. its very nice to just drive it on a daily basis without always putting your foot down. the gas mileage isnt the greatest, but if you wanted that you would buy a civic.

I won't be getting mine until next month and OneRedTXBolt got his in Feb. (I currently don't know any of the other 01 Lightning owners in the area). I know he's been really busy over the past few weeks, but you might be able to tie him down. I have never ridden in one either, and I intend to keep it that way until mine comes! That'll make it all the sweeter!!

There's a bunch of us in North Dallas... I've got a White 99 I'd be happy to take you for a spin in. I took a 01 out, and the bilstein's make a bit of a difference, but I felt it was essentially the same ride quality...
Anyway, There will be a bunch of us at the John Eagle Lincoln Mercury Car show this coming Saturday from 9am-3pm. Show at the front end of the show or the back end, and I'm sure one of us would take you for an extended spin.
FYI, Bankston has a lovely red '01 just sittin' there on their showroom floor right now...

I agree with the others... if you like performance, you will love this truck.
I'd be more than happy to take ya for a spin. Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving, etc and have little free time for the next couple of weeks. After that calms down, no problem. I have a 2001.
