Question Airaid and idle

Just a quick question for you folks. Before I put my Airaid intake on my 2000 L, it idled about 600 rpm in gear and 700 rpm in neutral. After I put the Airaid on the same numbers apply except for one thing. When I go from in gear to neutral, about one second after I shift the rpms go down to 500 for 1/2 second, then it jumps up to 700 like it always did. I guess it doesn't hurt anything but the first time it happened I thought the truck was going to die when the idle dropped. Does anyone else experience this behaviour? Thanks.

Yeah, mine's done that before too. I think it's the MAF and computer "hunting" for a proper idle speed since the air flows differently now with the Airaid. The computer just has to "learn" the new airflow load, which is now minimal. It will quit doing that eventually when it learns.

Thanks gforce. It looks like that was what it was. It took my truck a good 200 miles to get used to the new filter setup. I guess I just needed to be more patient .
