high Idle
I have a 2000 lightning with JDm chip and single bore throttle body. The truck runs between 1000 and 1500 RPM's Before with the stock throttle body and R9 chip the truck idled at 650-700 rpm range. Is this normal, Also the truck sat all winter, Any Ideas?

Mine would idle around 1000 rpms when cold, but once it gets warmed up, and fed with a few kills, then it happily idles at 600-700 rpms, digesting the fbodies...
no muffler, no chip....but you knew that.

You need to adjust the gizmo on the side of the throttle body, the throttle position sensor. Just slighty loosen the two screws and rotate it. The RPM's will go up or down depending on which way you rotate it. After you've adjusted it correctly, the idle will be better and the shift into 2nd gear won't occur at such a low RPM.

Cobra,
I ran into this with mine too. I noticed the throttle blade looked to be open way too much. I centered up the tps switch between the screws and then adjusted the little bolt on the stop arm until the tps voltage was .96 volts. This way the voltage is safely under the 1 volt maximum at idle and the throttle blade was just barely open, which allows for the computer to do automatic adjusting to the idle speed via the idle air compensator valve. (at least that's what GM calls them) That returned everything back to normal. Had my voltage still not been correct, I would have tweeked the tps switch, but I didn't have to - it was perfect when the screws were centered in the switch's indentations.
How to adjust the TPS switch

Cobra99,
Well, I'm just guessing now, but did it start doing this exactly when you put the T/B on? If so, either the gasket isn't sealing correctly, the linkage is holding it open some, (try taking the throttle linkage loose and leaving the spring attached) or your idle motor isn't working properly. Maybe try resetting the computer by pulling the neg battery cable and turning on the lights for 1/2 hour.
I'm sure you checked, and I'm just trying to help you, but are you sure the T/B blade isn't too far open? I had to turn mine about 3/4 turns clockwise (from the top) to get it right.

I did all that. JDM said the same thing. I noticerd it when I put the throttle body, JDM chip and 90 MM meter on. I did it all in one shot. I did not drive the truck for 6 months. Do you think it could be bad gas making it idle high? No check enging lights.
Bad gas can create all kinds of problems, but I doubt that's your problem because usually they just run rough or don't start well until it's all gone. Try to use it up and refill.
Another very strong possibility is your Idle Air Control Valve is sticking open. My Chevy truck did that and I darn near couldn't get it to come to a stop at a light. Peck on it and see if it closes and returns your idle back to normal.
Since you say it started all this at the same time you put the mods on, this would be another great possibility. Either your chip isn't quite right or maybe the MAF is just a dud. Disconnect your battery and pull the chip. Then drive it and see what happens. Just don't get on it really hard. Mine runs perfectly without the chip, but with the 90mm MAF, but in the long haul is probably too lean. Jim at JDM told me I could drive it without the chip when I sent mine back, so try it and see what happens.
