CA smog requirements
I've wondered about this for a long time. My truck came from a dealer in Pittsburg, PA and for some strange reason, is CA certified. Yet my truck outruns my buddy's identical Federal certified truck that came from Cincinnati, OH. I think the label above the fan is just for certification purposes only. No performance difference.

I checked the window sticker that came off my 2000. It only had destination charges. thery woer no additional charges or listing for CA Certification.

When I bought my 99, on the sticker it said CA emissions. And looking at my window sticker from the 2001 it says "California Emissions Systems NO CHARGE. So I got a front license plate holder drilled into my front bumper and Ca emissions for no charge. Geeee what a bargin!

On top of all of the above, i had to go to the scales and get a weight certificate. All this because that damn sticker didn't specify it to be in accordance with "CA" emissions requirements.
