Thumbs up Magnaflow 12468 installed PICS!!

Hi everyone, I just installed the Magnaflow 12468 muffler on my truck. It is awesome, lets out an impressive noise at all times. At idle it lets out a deep rumbling pitch, just how I expected it to be. When cruising the highway at 2k RPM it doesn't drone at all, and you don't hear much in the cab. I let my dad drive it past me, and from the outside at 2k RPM it sounds BITCHEN! I would recommend this muffler to everyone. Here are some before and after pics of the Muffler. I will try to record the sounds it makes, so for everyone that doesn't have one will get an idea of what it sounds like. Soon the tips will be replaced with BaBolts tips. Thx for bringing the Digital Cam Marcus, and also reffering me to Jimmy at Royal Muffler. I ow ya for that.

Cost of the Muffler was $200 and ordered it from Royal Muffler. Only took them a day to get it.

Sorry for being so naive, but what's the difference between the two. I want a nice deep tone that's a tad louder than stock. Not wake the neighbors loud.

Nevermind, found the difference - size differnce.

I had the MagnaFlow 12468 muffler on for about 2 months. It is really a beautiful muffler nice welds and you can see right thru it and look at the built in X pipe. The muffler seems to be getting louder with age. I really haven't felt any more extra power from the muffler just a little more noise when I press the gas petal. The best thing about it you don't have any irrating noise in the cab at any speeds like my Flowmaster mufflers had. I paid $127. for the muffler and $50. for the installation and 2 -2 1/2 pipes from the muffler to my stock tips.

ciione,

Glad you like it. Nice truck. VERY clean install.

I agree with DJY on the sound, they're getting better with age. I opted for Borla tips on mine.

Mufflers - especially aftermarket, free-flow ones - do indeed get louder with use. That's because some of the packing (aka muffling material) actually blows out. The faster you go, the more it blows out - dyno runs made a noticeable difference in my bike's exhaust sound.

Question

Is there any difference in tone between the 468 and 568. Is one louder than the other?

Speedin Bob,

I guess my exhaust installer didn't think about making it easy for himself.
