Post Chevy Thunder - Production or concept

My wife told me earlier tonight that she had just seen a commercial for a "Chevy Thunder" Has anyone ever heard of it or is it another GMC concept vehicle that will never hit the roads? Should I be worried?

Yea you should be really worried, My neighbor has one, It ran a 12.0 stock, he chipped it and ported the heads and it now runs low 11`s and low 10`s w/NOS. The truck dynoed at over 460 HP in stock form. You better sale yours to me for a nice chep price sal 15k and go buy a real truck a chevy. If you see them on the road run in the opposite direction, they wont be nice to you.

Lightning ALWAYS arrives before Thunder, so bring it on...

Chevy Thunder: 1/2 ton sport side standard cab 5.3 liter pickup. Modifications made by Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona. Whipple non intercooled supercharger, Edelbrock TES headers, Borla cat back exhaust, 18 inch tires and wheels, lowered suspension. Stock 1/2 ton transmission, stock 1/2 ton rear end. Claimed 400+ hp. Seen one run at my local track--high 14.'s-low 15's, saw a Lightning running low 14's at the same time (90-95 degrees temp).
Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but this is the only one I am aware of.

One of the local guys here has a 2000 full size extended cab, 4x4, leather seats, heated seats, ect, ect, ect, with a 5.3 LS1, whipple charger, runnin like 7PSI of boost, and 50shot of NOS as an intercooler, with some other mods that is turnin 12.1@106-108, something like 460RWHP, and 500+RWTQ

his truck weighs like 5300lbs i think he said...

his 5.3 seems to be kinda strong...

Chevy does have a new THUNDER edition out, at least up here in Canada they do. Its just a regular exteneded cab with a cheesy THUNDER decal on the side, and its basically just a package you can order which changes a few things in the interior etc...no power increase from what I'm aware

My dad had a '98 S-10 Thunder with a 4 banger in it. The Thunder package is just a cosmetic package. Looks like a poor person's version of the one on the Extreme.
