Angry New Tires. &@#(&@#!!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has experienced this....

So. I got a full set of new F1's installed this morning, which was over $1k.
After getting to work this afternoon (25 miles or so), I find this:

I'm so irritated, I could crap a differential. What's interesting is the angle of entry. I'm hoping it's only a 2" screw, and that it hasn't passed the...er... "inner wall" of the tire, or whatever it is called.

The fuzzy bits haven't even been worn off yet!! @#%&!

Ok, carry on.

You know what? I think you're on to something there.

I used a screwdriver and backed the screw out, figuring that driving on it would only push it in further. So far, no hissssssss, but we'll see whether it's a 3-legged dog in the morning.

Yeah, I don't really even know how it got picked up like that. It seems that when I usually get a nail or whatever, it's straight in, and it's in the shoulder.

That always seems to mean: You can wait a week for the tire, 'cause it's not in stock.

Looks like it only when through the upper tread and didn't pierce the tire. I think you'll be ok! I'd be pretty annoyed whether it was punctured or not though!

I was coming home from work on a very rainy day. Came around a corner just after a box of roofing nails was lost off the back of a truck. Took out all 4 of my tires. Each tire ended up with 8-12 punctures each. You lucked out.

New rule 2: The penalty for violation of the above is

I lost two Pirelli's that way ($320 a tire!)... one to a bolt, one to a screw, less then 500 miles on them. It's rough...

Doesn't look through anything but the treadblock rubber to me. It should be OK to pull out.

Sorry for the update delay.. Definitely lucked out this time. I did back the screw out before I drove on it, but checked that I had the keys to my wheel locks and the spare before I took off (just in case).

When I returned from being gone for the weekend, the tire was still in good shape. I'm pretty relieved since this is my daily driver and I don't really have the time to monkey**** around with this.

Jeez Halflife, can you walk on that? Yikes! Looks painful!
