Question Lightning... a classic in the making?

I think about this all the time and I am interested in what others think.
One of the reasons for purchasing my Lightning was the foreshadowing that it would be a classic someday.
Does anyone else think that 30-35 years from now it will be regarded in the way that we look at the mid 60's muscle cars (GTO Judge, Boss Mustang, Z-28 Camaro, etc.)???
My thinking is that since (in 2000) only 4,966 were made, they will one day be a hot item in the car-nut world.
Just my .02 on the subject.

30-35 years from now?

Lets see 14,000 miles in 2 years and I've had 3 intercoolers, 1 total transmissiom, 2 cluch packs, 1 rear end, 1 right rear axle, 1 windsheld, 1 side window replaced that I can think of off the top of my head. To top this off anything above 110 my cluch plates are slipping again.

30 - 35 years..... sorry I'm more interested in my unforseen problems for next year.

Thumbs up

I believe that it will be the muscle "car" of the century. There have been few vehicles lately that accomplish what the L does. Performance, looks, and the ability to be useful in addition to everything else. Not to mention that it is something that almost anyone can aFord, and aFord to keep, but yet is a limited edition vechicle. That is why I myself have two. One to drive (99'), and one for show (00'). One awesome truck!!!!!

I plan on getting 3k vehicle(for work,fishing
& hunting)so my L wont be a daily driver. Cause I plan on holding on to it for a very long time. So I hope it will be a classic in the later years, hopefully.

In my opinion the L is one of the rare vehicles that rolled out of the showroom as an "instant classic." The Hurst Olds was one, the GTO Judge, the GNX, etc. Take yours to a car show and see all the attention it gets. If anything like around here, it gets as much or more as the customs.
