rear exit pipes
If I could find an animated gif of a guy puking on the back end of a set of two out the back, I would post it, the lightning looks great the way it is. You can change some stuff, but you got to be true to the original somewhat. IMHO

The one thing I DON'T like about the side exhaust is that it's beginning to discolor the molding behind the tips. I notice it more every time I clean it. I think it's because it's running so rich. The inside of the pipes are always black. Hmmmmm...maybe I can convince the wife that's a good reason to get a chip and lean it out some?
In order to legally run straight pipes out the back of a pick-up you have to have Texas plates. Federal law.

Hey, dont do rear exhaust, looks nice and all... but what truck DOESN'T have it?? I wanna move mine to the side... the rear exhaust is gettin old for me... o may just go with dumps... dunno yet... it'll save a few lbs too..
