Cool First time at the track!

Went to Moroso Park last night and got my first ever runs at a speedway.

absolute barometer @30.41
temp @ 80F (estimated)
vey humid (temp & humidity were not
shown on slip)

60 ft...1.891
330.....5.307
1/8.....8.152
mph.....85.86
1000....10.620
1/4.....12.705
mph.....107.87

That was, of course, my best run. I think I like this, it's fun.

Tim

btw...full dress w/ARE cap on and ears out (like I said.....I'm a rookie at this)

What tires and gears. Those seem like pretty good times if the conditions were as crappy as they sound.

Congrats.

Cool

Waaaaay too loud. I think I'm going to change it to a dynomax single 2in2out.

Resonates so loud in the cab that I can,t hear the s/charger or the wheels spinning.

If you want loud...go with those 12" Borlas!

Just as a footnote....I also put in coutouts and ran them open at the track. My best run of the night was with them closed though, so I think I'll take them back off.

Tim-
I'm getting the non-stepped 1-5/8" primary long tubes with Lightning performance's siamesed dual exhaust. I had them put cats on to help with the noise. Mike sent me pictures of my system and they are in transit.

How was the install for the headers? I'm told it is a no sweat deal.

Talking

Good numbers and good 60's. Now just work on your RTs and consistant 60's. Remember if you spin at lauch your 60s can vary up to .1 which is not good for bracket racing. It will probably be that your best launch RPM will not produce your best times but you will need consistant 60s to win. The track will vary every time you go. Start out at an agressive launch RPM and then lower it each time until you find one that produces consistant 60s. Remember you truck will run faster if it sits in the pits for 45 min to an hour, than it will run making consectative passes. Compare your runs by adding or subtracting 60' differences to a base 60'. Any other differences will be attrutable to truck temp and track temp.
Get to where your RTs are always .55 or better. That's generally good enough to win.
Good Luck,
noelvm

Tim....

Congrats on the awesome run!! It ain't easy to get in the 12's down here with this hot *** weather, high humidity and crappy track. Let me know the next time that you go, I'll try to tag along. I haven't been in a long time. Later!

Thanks,

I'm trying to decide what tires I want to go with. BTW, how does your truck sound with the headers and mods? I'm waiting on my system to get here.

Cool

Need4: I had someone else do the install. Even with the individual tube, they said it was ne easy job. Probably a little easier for them, though, because they put them on at the same time the heads were installed.

Noel: Thanks for the info. I've got a lot of L competition at the Fla track. There were 5 of them there Wed. and I'm getting a LOT of helpful advise.

Spencer: I plan on going alot. Several of the gents around here go on Wed. nites. If you want to meet us, stop down at tower shops any Fri. There's always 6 to 8 of us there.
