Drilled Rotors...

Any brand name recommendations? Im looking for all four, preferrably with a rotor/pad combo. Ive seen a few on EBay and I think LFP has a set but I figured I should ask the experts first

If you go cheap, they will crack. I had RotoPros drilled & slotted and they cracked in less than 6 months with less than 6K miles on them. I now have R1's slotted rotors.

No personal knowledge, but the Baer Decella Rotors come well reccomended with a 3 year warranty. They are more pricey than the Rotorpros and the R1s.

I would avoid drilled rotors, they are mostly hype, you are better off with slotted, every hole that is drilled takes that much away from your friction materials contact patch.

But so do slots, and there is typically more surface area removed with slots than with holes, so which way is this argument cutting?

Cute picture Tim,

Slots or holes are good for outgassing of the pad, slots have the advantage of wiping the pad surface, holes have the advantage to the supplier of increased rotor sales.

I know you run the pimpy Brembro rotors, and if they were going to crack I am sure you would have cracked em, but the crop of aftermarket rotor houses are hacks.

Put a set of slotted / dimpled Rotorpros from Lightning Brake Performance over 35,000 miles ago...

No problems yet - would definitely buy them again...

I have 3 friends with the same rotors - no problems with any of them yet.

I'm not advocating drilled, just poking holes (holes, get it?) in my homie's argument. It's my job. Somebody has to keep you honest.

Ill check out the R1s, and whichever brands LFP had up.
I put EBCs on my SVT Focus and they warped after a few months, absolute crap.
