custom pedals

I found a site that makes aftermarket pedals for vehicles, www.ultimatepedals.com. Their products seems legit, and they are the same style that AMG uses in their cars, which are pretty cool, but I would like to know other people's perspectives.

My biggest concern however, is that I fear they may just be saying whatever they can to make the sale. They told me they have sold many pedals to Lightning owners, which is what brings me here, but I'm not sure about them. They spelled "Lightening", they don't post the years of compatibility of their products page (but they did send me a PDF with an exact template and it fits), but going around in circles again, looking for other perspectives.

They way the pedals install is by removing the rubber cover on each pedal, and replacing them with the aftermarket pedals. However, the gas pedal seems to be one large piece of plastic, no rubber grip over it. It is the only pedal with this configuration, but if anybody has installed pedals this way, how was the gas pedal tackled?

Thanks in advance

HOLY THATS A LOT OF MONEY BATMAN
Like 80.00 for just the Brake Pedal and another 60.00 for the Gas Pedal

But I do have to admit they look like the right size and give you plenty to choose from. Being the right size is important and def worth some extra money (not sure if it's worth that much extra money).

I have that type of pedal in my Sport Trac and can only say it is waaaaay oversized and everytime you hit the Brake it's so close to the gas pedal that you end up braking and giving it gas at the same time (it's a real pita) I bought them to get the pedals a little closer to me, I also blocked the back of the bucket seat and I still cant find the right comfortable driving position
: o (

Other than the Price they def get a Thumbs Up from Me

A company like AMG is pretty prestigious. I really don't mind borrowing styles and materials that somebody like that uses. For pedals, that may be expensive; but for the best, I'd say it's a fair deal.

A guy over on svtperformance told me you can just drill in the gas pedal into the plastic. Been working for 5 years now. Personally, I'm sold. But I understand you guys' mentality of "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

Then you could actually blame it on the pedal, not your lead foot!

I have them and they are nice. The gas pedal just overlays the stocker and is screwed in.

As a side note, I use to work on my truck right next to where he use to make those pedals, in Pompano Beach. He's now somewhere around West Palm Beach.

Pedals

I have the STEEDA billet aluminium pedals and they were an easy install. I used the Ultimate Pedals driver side dead pedal and had to fabricate a mounting plate since our trucks don't have one standard. Check out their site:

They may be of decent quality but are still an AMG knock off. A steel surface pedal without any type of rubber on them is certainly less than optimal with certain type of footwear or moisture. This is basically a bling item. If you like them, then they are for you but I prefer functionality.

I get what you're saying with functionality. But these are very much like AMG. I wouldn't call it an AMG knock off because it uses teh same parts AMG's pedals use, and in a similair style, only now they are fabricated to come in patterns for other vehicles as well. Also, Honda has started using them in their new concepts and performance stuff. Not they Honda is better, but it's a style that's getting attention.

I get what you're saying about functionality, in theory, but it seems to me that if these were such a not-so-grand idea, they were be less on the up and coming. Also some of the guys here who say they use these pedals, and have for 5 years, would have reported any kind of slippage; as that is a big deal. And keep in mind that there is rubber, it's not a solid steel surface...

They are an imitation of an AMG style. They have zero parts in common or any affiliation with AMG. That's why they are knock offs.

Regardless, AMG cars are nice luxo barges fast in a straight line, not really designed for handling as any critics in car magazines will indicate. Owners aren't really concerned with grippy pedals as none of the cars come with manuals. If you want to see properly designed functional ones, check BMW M5s or M3s. Those are real driver's cars.

Now, I'm not trying to start a feud here, but I have to disagree. In regards to BMW, well that's off topic. What I'm talking about are ultimatepedals' pedals. And I still can't say they are AMG knock-offs. You say they are because of parts an affiliation. As for parts, no. These are steel and rubber. Same stuff. Not part number or anything like that, otherwise they would be a swap. But steel and rubber, it's all gravy.

As for affiliation, they don't need it. I used AMG as reference. It's a style that's on the up, and I first went with AMG to prove my point. It is not imitating an AMG style, just like it is not imitating Honda's style. So settle down, man.

Regarding AMG's buyers: sorry, don't care. Not why I'm here. Came here for insight to how these pedals are.

My point is if you copy another company, don't use their name and this guy in Florida shouldn't either. It burns my butt when so many aftermarket companies copy another and claim the design as their own or that they are just as good, usually at a lower price. The entire Chinese manufacturing industry is based on this.

AMG will never make pedals for the F-150 but this is all irrelevant. If you like them, buy them.

Alright, I see what you're saying. I apologize for dropping the AMG and Hodna name. I don't know who the guy in Florida is, but I got it. UltimatePedals though did not make any AMG claims, that was entirely me. I was just referencing the style. As somebody pointed out, STEEDA uses that style as well. It's just a style I named dropped AMG onto.
