Those Audi Folks March to a different drummer
There was a post from a guy on the Audi forum today. He was estatic, because he had drag raced a Mustang GT Convertible with auto transmission and only lost by one car length. I could not resist replying indicating that I find it a strange world when you are pleased when you only lose by a slight margin. Strange folks. I never knew that you could win by losing. Go figure.
Of course I am too smart to race anyone with my new TT. I will be chipping it, but that will give me enough power to perhaps at least keep an L in sight if we don't race too far.

Sandy:
Let me know when you're ready....
I'll let you win so you can post it over there. You'd be a hero, or something...

Sandy,
Sorry to hear you sold your truck! I like the Audi TT. It is a little small for me. I'm glad the Audi boy's can win for losing! I have a Cobra convertible on order for Joan. I hope I don't need to adopt the same attitude! Good luck!

Hey Rich:
I can save a lot of gas if you can just agree that the race took place. I would even post a picture of your machine as my kill. I went to a German site that does after market stuff for the TT, they have a mod package that brings the TT up to a little over 400 hp - that might be interesting.
Tom:
It was a tough decision, because I have never loved a ride as much as the L. I am loving this little TT though - very refined. I toyed with the idea of a Cobra. I will most likely buy one in the future, but I am waiting for a Cobra that can beat an L. I'd love to buy a yellow one. Coincidentally, my girlfriend bought a new yellow Stang this past Sunday at Auto Nation in Sanford. I wore them down finally - they had me there for over 4 hours, but finally made the deal go my way. I think it helped that there were about 25 sales people and about two customers.

Sandy,
I got the Cobra at x plan up in Jacksonville. I did it over the net and the phone. I like yellow, but I like the old yellow better. In the convertible you can only get black roof and dark charcoal interior, the Cobra seats are like the Lightning with the colors and material reversed. The yellow with the black roof looked like a bumble bee to me. We went with Laser Red / Parchment. Next Ford you buy you can get X plan through the EAA. No B.S. no add on fees.

Sounds good. I also have never been a big fan of yellow and black, although it is a popular combo. I love than and yellow. I'll see how things go. I have owned many Stangs and I'm sure there are more in my future. This Audi is my first euro machine sine the early 70's when I had a Porsche. Nothing like serious engine displacement though.

Yeah, the Audi board is an interesting crowd. I started posting there when my wife had orderd her S4 Avant, but I lost interest. There are a few like minded souls on there, but most of them just like to dog out people that open her up on the roadways (really bad *******) and they tend to do a little bit more "ricing" of some stuff than I care for.
The S4 with Quattro is fairly quick to 60 (about six seconds even). After that, it dies quickly (as I found from a 65 mph roll against an SS Camaro).
However, I will add the fact that if it is raining outside, I'll line my wife's wagon up against just about anything new out there off the line from 0-60. That all wheel drive really likes to dig in there.
Great fit and finish, and pretty good power, but I'd rather see twin turbos on something with displacment.

Hey whats the audi sites to look for high performance parts for it. My brother has a TT and he wants more then 225 HP from it. And he's a computer guy, so he asked me to find out some stuff, I figured that a chip would be good with a turbo on the car.

You asked what computer I am getting. You probably meant chip. I talked with the Upsolute (made in Germany - the company as a package that turns a TT into a 400 HP monster) distributor today who is local, but on April 14th, a group is going to have a dyno shootout of the few types of chips available, so I am interested in the results. Besides, I wouldn't chip until broken in. Unlike the L, these have to be broken in a bit.
Lucky:
The S4 is interesting, but is only a 14 flat machine when not chipped. I guess they are getting into the mid 13's when well chipped, and there seems to be some serious add-on packages for those interested. Great cruising machine - I considered it, but one of the things that helped my decision, was that the closest one I could locate was in PA.

Here is the location of the TT group, or for that matter the Audi group:
