question about the various oil separator kits.
Breathers seem to work fine for me. One of the liabilites of removing the PCV system is that you will not get as complete removal of residual combustion byproduct gases from your crankcase as with the PCV system operational. I change oil twice a year, and as mine is not my daily driver and I don't put much miles on it during the year (but when I do drive it, I never drive it for less than 1 hour), the oil isn't in there long enough to get too polluted. Some guys report smelling a lot of "oil fumes" inside when running breathers, but I haven't noticed it much. You do get a fair amount of oil dripping down off the breathers though to clean up - and you do have to clean the breathers, just like air filters. I clean mine out every two years with K & N air filter "re-charge"kit.
Do a "search" and you'll find many differing types of "how to's" with photos. Basically it involves removal and/or capping off of all PCV lines and installing breathers on standoffs - generally two on the passenger side (because you have two openings) and one on the drivers side. If I ever take the valve covers off, I will install another on the drivers side. Also you'll have to have the PCV system "turned off" in your "tune" - otherwise you'll probbaly get a CEL.
