I've got good news to report. First, the bad news. My truck spent the weekend sitting on blocks because the body shop manager at Bay Area Ford wanted to leave early Friday and didn't want to take the time to wait for the wrecker driver to pick up a set of temporary wheels to mount on L so it could be towed on a flatbed towtruck. No one else in Houston wanted to touch the truck without a set of wheels on the L either. I even tried Ford Roadside assistance but even they couldn't find someone willing to mount some temporary tires to tow the L to a dealer, so it spent the weekend at home. Actually, this was fine with be because, in the past, everytime I've had to leave vehicle at the dealer overnight, I've ended up with a dealer-installed door ding mod.

The good news is a my insurance rep found a complete set of '01 L wheels and tires in stock at Tire and Wheel Warehouse in Houston, in fact, they have two other sets that are going to be chromed this week if anyone is interested. I'm happy with the factory silver, plus I'm having them static balance them so the wheels don't have wheel weights damaging the lip of the rims. I should be up and running by tomorrow morning (alarm included)! Meanwhile, things are back on schedule. My JL ram air kit gets back from the powder coater next week and my Snug Lid tonneau cover and Bedrug should be in at the same time too.

A bit off topic, but I noticed TireRack is now selling F1's for $202. Not as cheap as $175 but these tires are definitely getting more reasonably priced.

Thumbs up

Hey Madhouse, the chromed Lightning wheels are available at Tire and Wheel Warehouse in Houston. I'm not sure about the price. Their number is 281-890-5920, ask for Curtis.
