Post NEW BEST MPG.

Just took the 2000L out for the first long run with the JDM calibrated street chip for the 90mm MAF. I filled up and got on the interstate. I travelled a little over a 100 miles and when I returned I filled up at the same station and the same pump. The truck was in the same exact spot. I wanted to ensure the tank was filled to the same level as before. I never once got into the throttle hard for the entire trip. I set the cruise on 78MPH for the entire trip. Well, I got 18.1 mpg. That is a new best for me and my truck is faster than it ever has been when you step on it. The JDM chip is an awesome setup.

18mpg is awesome! I was happy the first time my MPG was higher than my ET. Best so far is 14.2mpg and my best ET so far is 13.73. I hope I can get about 18 since most of my driving is on the I. Going from 18-21 in my Cobra to 11.6-14.2mpg in the L was a little tough!

Thats good. I got 18.4 over 250 miles from filling up at a high point near Mt. Shasta going down into Oregon on I-5 I think. Love going down them hills.

Leaner programs = better gas mileage?

Thats great. Everyone else is bragging how fast their truck is and I get a little tired of it. Its great to hear about some good mileage. As usual my truck doestnt get that kind of mileage just like it doestnt get the quick times either. Maybe I have to try the JDM chip.

Gotta question when filling up. A buddy of mine said in the manual to click it off 3 times when filling up. Didn't believe him, but found it myself. Although I don't do it b/c the gas spilled out once when I added one more click, I am wondering who else does this. Maybe I am not getting an accurate gas mileage reading by pulling out the nozzle when it first clicks off.

If you fill it up the same way every time you should have pretty reliable numbers on your MPG. If you always just fill to "one click" you be ok on your numbers, but if you go one click on one tank and then on the next fill up you squeeze as much fuel in as possible, your numbers will be off.
