odd noise?

odd noise?
WheN my truck is sitting Idling it has a odd sounding motor of some sort that turns on and off.Could it be my intercooler pump,no leak yet, or possibly some emmision garbage? The noise can't be heard when driving but that may just be because of the exhaust noise.The noise is loder in the truck than out or even under the hood.
Also where can I get a service manual for thhis thing?
