well, this is a good thing

my DAD which is my uncles BROTHER is going to provide the initial cash funds to purchase and then 6 months i am going to re-finance.

so i will be able to buy my truck on the A plan...

also, i'm not going to get a lightning, i am 18... still in high school; work at toys r us making 6.25 an hour and there is no way i can afford it. maybe in 2 years after i get into the electrician school making 15 an hour i will buy me my dream vehicle(lightning).

instead i'm going to purchase:

2001 XLT 5.4L Reg Cab. Shortbed; Styleside.
estimated price by uncle: 18.5-19k

Question

Needfourspeed: I also fell into that category on the X plan but if you used the X plan, How did you get it under $28,000. I have the order confirmation from the dealer that lists the A plan as $27,600 and I thought the X plan was 4% higher than this. At least that is what my dealer told me. Is this correct?

Yeah forgot that part....also didn't mention Z-plan...but I was just trying to point out the innacurate statements to clear things up for people.

But yeah ...you are right....suppliers can get x-plan too. Not a bad deal.

Hey CPASilver, I was just at the dealer last night and yes 27,900 for A plan, and 28, 918 for X plan. They told me they would only do it if they got an "extra" one in. I told them I was repeat business and if they could not honor the X Plan pricing I would look else where! Ha! I don't think that will work!
(BTW, those lightnings sure are nice to drive, got to take a 2000 out, niccccce!)

Seems to be a lot of confusion aroung A/X/Z plans. Dealers DO have to honor those plans on regular production items, but not on specials, such as the "L", the new T-Bird and so on. Try searching on the internet, as many will. If you are in Northern Ohio, the www.mathewsford.com Got mine there "A" Plan for 27,860 with the tonneau cover.

Hate to burst your bubble but he said his uncle was a transmission mechanic for a dealer. Dealers are privately owned so the employees are not employed by Ford, but by a private owner. They are not eligible for A/Z or X plans. However, a dealer can cut any kind of deal with their employees they want so he may be able to get you a good price.

Wink

Received my L' on the "I" plan. Meaning I paid for everything. Including but not excluding any and every little add on the dealer could think of. I think I may have even seen something on the window sticker about his kids orthodondist.
