it was about 330pm today as i was in bathroom at work washing my hands getting ready to close up to go home. the bathroom door was closed, i had just gotten done doing a much needed pee-pee, : ) and i was drying my hands off from washing them. as i open the door to the office, my brother was standing outside. looking down the street. i walk into the office thinking nothing and he turns around and sees me standing there looking at him as if to say, what the hell is he staring at. he says, " hey mike, i think i just saw one of those lighting trucks u like go down the street, but it was different than your friends chris's 2000 black one. so i said, well what do u mean different? he said it was silver , but the wheels looked flatter and the taillights blended in with the rest of the truck. so now my eyes are getting slightly bigger, so i said, "you mean the taillights were clear with like a red circle for the brakelight part?" he said yea i think so, and he said the guy was driving real slow and looking over here. so i start to tell him in a louder voice, that must of been a silver 2001 lightning!! i then went on to say, why didnt you yell for me so i could of seen it too? he says, you were in the bathroom, i figured you were taking a crap or something, and i didnt want to bother you. so now im thinking, damn, i wasnt even taking (or leaving for that matter) a crap and i missed it. he said it looked as if the guy pulled over down the street one block down just around the bend. we quickly closed up and we took a ride down the street to see if it was still there. i figured for sure it would be gone, but nope, there it was!! turns out, it was a guy i know from down there, his friends new truck. i know the one guy cause he has an 89 gt stang and he gets fuel at my shop. i remembered him telling me his friend was getting an l, but i figured i would believe when i saw it. well today i saw it, and it was very pretty i must say. the silver is extremely nice in person, much nicer than pics show. the truck came from oasis ford, down by e-town in new jersey. its the dealer you pass on route 9 just b4 texas road, on your way to e-town. first 2001 l i have seen on road yet and i was all gung ho for it. the only other 2001 l i have seen was a black one at wayne ford, wayne new jersey. the reason he was going so slow passed by shop was because the guy i know with the gt was driving it and he was looking for me to show me, but he didnt see me so he kept going. sorry for long post, but i had to get that out! later all, Mike

 

I saw my first yesterday, also. A silver, just like mine. Liked the lights, hated the rims. Grill was cool.

DON C, wise guy! ; ) it is exact to yours. let me tell you, if someone would of asked me what color lighting do i think looks the best, i wouldnt know which to say, but silver would of been my last choice. but now after seeing it in person, damn, it is really really nice. i like the chip look it has, like metallic flake i think its called. it is a very nice color. it has like sparkles in it, almost like a custom paint job. now i like the silver just as much as red, white, or black. pictures dont do justice for the silver. anyone who is looking to get an 01, and hasnt seen silver in person, hold off till you see it, you may just fall in love with it. oh yea, make sure its in the daylight or atleast under the dealers showroom lights, it really shows up the sparkle affect. 2 thumbs up on the silver guys!! hehe, no trolling here. i like both chevy and ford. there are certain ford cars i dont like, and certain gm cars that are just garbage in my oppinion too. my favorite vehicles ford makes would have to be the lightning, the mustangs, meaning the v8 models, and the f350 super duty, i love that truck! my girlfriend has a new escort zx2, which is a pretty cool car, i like that too, but not for me, she does look hot in it though, hehe!! well, she would look hot in just about anything i must say! later guys, Mike

Yeah, I saw my first 01 last weekend. It was white, and the pictures here do not do those things justice. We almost caught a light together but they weren't cooperating.

The wheels look 1000% better in person, but I still like mine better, the flatness of the edges do not go well with the curves of the truck.

I told the guy about this site, and he asked if I was the one running it. He works a the dealership, and I am starting to think they know all about me.

SLP, I felt that same about the silver until I saw one at the dealership. Almost bought it, but they wouldn't give me enough on my old truck. Got my red 01 a couple weeks ago. I'm still checking into the rumors of a yellow version coming soon. There is one in yellow, but you have to go to Ontario Truck to see it. The plant manager had it specially done. Looks sharp.
