Sometime I can't win for losing. I stopped by McDonalds for a quick breakfast this morning. I angle parked outside and went in to get my breakfast. I came out and got into the truck, started it and backed up. There was a lady behind me so I had to stop backing. Three spaces to the left of me a young girl backs out. I look at her and she's asleep/passed out in the driver's seat. She continues to back and the wheel turns due to no one steering arcing her derelict-mobile straight for me. I try to back up quickly but I'm hemmed in by the car behind me. W-e-l-l her damn car side-swiped completely across my front bumper, ripping the license plate off and putting lateral deep gouges all across it. The b!tch is still asleep. I jump out and checked out the damage. I had to beat on her window to bring her too. She had a strong smell of alcohol about her and she was semi-coherent. In a partial stupor she looks out, my bumper dead against her car door and says..... I did'nt do that....Her left rear tire was on top of my license plate. I said: "Someone must of lifted your car up and put my license plate under you tire when you wasn't looking". To make a long story short, the police wouldn't respond because it happened on private property. I almost got in a fight with the owner of McDonalds. He wanted me to move and I wanted to wait for the police first. The airhead had a New York drivers license, Virginia Beach address and North Carolina plates. It was a 87 Berreta GT. I'm pissed!!! She said "That's why you have insurance". Yeah, right!

Did you take any pictures at the scene? It's always a good idea to have a Polaroid camera on board in case proof is needed.

You should have told them you went to Dunkin Donuts just before going to Mc Donalds and you purchased 2 dozen of all the good times. Lol..

First. You tell them she is drunk; and public disturbance is taking place.

Second. She's hitting parked cars while intoxinated. Do you allow drunk driving in a public but private parking lot. the public is in danger her and its your job to help. Let me talk to your sargent.

I had the same case about 4 years ago with my 94 lightning.. It worked on getting them out there. BTW telling them just on the donuts won't work. lol

 

The VB police are a bit worthless. Once I had to kick one of their car doors to get the cop to come out and respond to an accident that had just happened. After that I chewed him out like a drill instructor and he just stood their and took it. Sorry about the accident Undy.

I gotta say that you are a bigger man than I. If that was me and the cops said "too bad its on private property", I would taken the equivalent amount of damage out on her car.

I'm not sure about the laws in your area, but small claims court may work.

Pisses me off when people don't care about the cars of others. We don't spend $30K on a vehicle for others to smack into it and not pay. A$$holes, we need to create the F150 Online vigilante patrol to get these losers back.

Hope the repairs don't cost too much.
