Mail order tune?

Are the mail order tunes decent and reliable? You guys get good results? I have the diablo predator and I was thinking on doing the PSP or Amazon mail order after reading some posts. You just email your truck specs and mods and then get a tune huh? Is it that easy.

Thanks for any responses.

Custom Tune

Zamboni's Speed and Custom has a guy named Scott Beer who come in once a month and does tuning. Used to work for Diablo Sport. Tuned my truck and I am extremely happy with it. Haven't been to the track yet, but can feel a difference in the way it run. Pone # is 813-236-1888. He's in Riverview.

Mail order tunning is safe and quite good if you have a Basic Set Up, amof it's sometimes safer because it wont be over aggressive, but if you want the most out of your truck then Dyno Tuning is of course better.

If you have major mods; aftermarket SC, Built Motor, Heads, Cams, Etc,
then a Dyno tune is the only way to go...

I'm assuming you have a basic set up, Sal of PSP would be an excellent choice and he knows exactly what you need.

I've had several mail order (canned) tunes in the past years and have been satisfied with them. It's not a substitute for a dyno tune, but where a dyno tune isn't convienent, today it will usually do well. The dilemma that all tuners have in sending out a canned tune with no data logged info is that they cannot ascertain the condition of your engine or how it's operating or be sure of any mod's you have made to it. However, the most heavily used and experienced "Lightning" tuners have learned over the past years how to set up conservative tunes for a variety of applications that usually will produce desirable results and still be reliable. Your best bet for a mail order though, is to contact a tuner over the phone and talk to him/her, and in that way they'll best understand what mod's are on your engine and what tune would be most satisfactory for you.
