Question REAL track or dyno data on SVO TB and 90mm MAF

Anyone have some real data on these mods?

I'd like this to be as scientific and technical as possible, so please no seat-of-pants impressions.

If I get either or both of these I'll be sure to post results as I always do, but I'd like to hear from any others first b4 spending $$.

Also, any advice on where to purchase these would be helpful.

Wes

A couple guys who went to the dyno with us last weekend have the SVO throttle body but a different MAF. Dont know if this will help ...
http://www.svtlightnings.com/talon/dyno/dynofastech.htm

There are 10 Dyno runs on a table with 8 ETs from the track the next day.
It may be coincidence but the 2 Guys with SVO throttle bodies had the Highest HP. And Sixpipes ran the fastest ET with his SVO TB on Sunday.

Thanks Doug. I had already checked out that info...and will review it again. Great pics and detailed info, BTW!!

I don't have a MAF, TB, a blower pulley (not sure about this one right now) or exhaust, so I'm trying to figure out what would work best at this point.

Wes,

From what I have seen and the ease of installs I am seriously considering the MAF / TB combo ALSO - BUT It requires a custom chip specific for the combo....

Yeah, I understand that, Doug.

Thing is, I really like the way my chip performs right now. No pinging ever (unless I get some bad gas...this actually happened for the first time just a few weeks ago), great shifts, outstanding bottom-end throttle response, etc.

From my experience with some different chips, you kind of "roll the dice" each time you try something new. For someone like me who does not race the truck often at all...leaving it alone might be the best route.

At the same time, this is relatively cheap power to be had...at least where I come from in the world of "hot-rodding".

I do have the JDM 90 MAf, 12" S&B filter & JDM chip installed now. The TB is going to be shipped today. Hopefuly in time for saturday when the track opens. Then I can post some real times! I really like the new chip , NO PING at all. They programmed the chip with all my mods, so it would all work together. 60 MPH now means crossing an intersection. I'll report my times this weekend. Does your chip have to be programed for the single blade TB? I just got mine today, and it down shifts very fast. I think it's worth having.

According to Jim@JDM he saw a 12HP increase with the 90mm MAF mid range to top end.
