Post Why Lightnings are Perfect

Friday:
Took some furniture to a consignment store. Did the work commute in comfort and style.

Saturday:
Drove it to a drag strip. Ran 13.84 @ 100.4, stock. Drove home happy.

Sunday:
Drove to Home Depot. Bought a wet/dry vac and a couple buckets. Drove home. Washed truck - mmmm.

I can't think of another vehicle that could better handle all those things.

-Ollie

All of you make excellent points.
I just wish they would develop a 32-valve DOHC version. I mean, slap a blower on a 5.4 Cobra R motor and drop it in a Lightning. Hmm, I wonder what the #'s would look like, .

oooohh, a wet/dry vac. That is one of my favorite tools. The one I have ....... the motor part disconnects from the rest of it so you can use it as a leaf blower. Works great for blowing off the truck afer I wash it.

HAHA RT,

You think the truck is a CHICK magnet? You should try being a female owner...Sure the girls look, the ones who understand, think to themselves (from behind the wheel of their Camaros) *B*tch*
But the guys...there is nothing else like it. I may as well have a boob in the middle of my forehead...

LOL!! Redd and CA, you're too funny!

CA, I know what you're talking about - when I see a cute girl driving an ordinary pickup, it gets my attention. I can't imagine my reaction to seeing one driving a modded Lightning! Yowza.

01sl, I hear ya. For all the neat go-fast stuff on this truck, there seems to be some oversights. I too would like the things you mentioned!

Lightfoot, yeah I like the wet/dry vac too! I got it because I'm already tired of bailing out the bed with a cup every time I wash it or when it rains. Mine also has a blower function, though not the detachable one - there was a substantial price difference between the two models.

On a related side note, sometimes I do cast wi****l glances at sports cars. I wonder how quick and nimble they are, stuff like that. But my very next thought is always, "I wonder how much they can carry". Of course, we know the answer to that. I think about the times I've needed the storage capacity of the bed just in the 1.5 months I've owned my L and just smile.

Nobody can touch us.

Dont forget that most insurance companies treat it as a regular F150 so the insurance rates are much lower. It is not a cop magnet and it makes anyone who doesnt know any better who wants to race look real stoopid when they get beat by a truck.

There are two types of vehicles I have owned in my life. Sports cars and pickup trucks. This vehicle is a dream come true to anyone that wants to get their truck on and their sport on

felonious,
I can relate about the carrying capacity. I don't think my cobra could have hauled all my equipment: generator, 5-tires, tool boxes, fans, jacks, jackstands, Misc. Boxes of parts and clothes we needed at the last FWW at Bradenton, Fla.
Let alone cruised at 85-90 all the way. Thank you Valentine One. Not to mention the attention it got by spectators in the pits.
It's a brand new world every time I take her out for a spin.
