new lightning :) ?

I'm the proud owner of an 04 lightning and have a question.. I had no idea how terrible the gas mileage would be until i got it lol. I mean the trucks fast and all but the gas mileage it gets is bad real bad, in comparison to my old f150 4.6L, (i feel like i can watch the gauge go down).. I think my truck might be running a little rich considering my flowmaster exhaust tips turn black on the inside shortly after a truck wash? but idk.. Do they really do this bad on gas? and what kind of gas mileage is actually expected?

Come on Tim, tell him.............

Welcome to the club 1999f150xlt. I average 10-11 mpg around town and I think I got 12-13 on the freeway, but I'm always having fun with it.........

If I keep my foot out of the boost, I get 14-15 mpg (2002). I have a 1997 F150 w/4.6l (4X4; ext cab) and all I can get out of that dog is 14-15 mpg, so except for the premium gas for the L, it's a wash.

The L has a SuperChip Microtuner 1714; CAI; Magnaflow exhaust. Exhaust tips always get sooty from rich mixture.

Join the club. I get 11-13 MPG depending upon driving style. Get a gas miser for the weekdays.

the worse adjustments are the premium fuel, and always wanting to get on it. don't know what a 4.6 stocker gets but once you learn to take it easy most of the time LOL, you should get the 14-15, stock I used to get 16-18 taking it easy
welcome to the world of "you want to Play you got to pay" damn FUN no matter what.
And Welcome to the Family
