Diablo does not use our ChipMaster system.

Sal from PSP and Danny from Swanson Performance are the main Lightning guys using our system.

Actually fastsvtss, that's not entirely true.
True we do not spend our time trying to make a chip for every vehicle out there like Diablo and Superchips does. You want a chip for an Aerostar, give one of them a call.

We spend our time digging through the EEC to find things they rest of them don't have access to or understand.

We can dump ANYONES chip, we see who does what to the files. You'd be amazed at what some chips have in them... or are lacking.
I could dump a chip from the competition and tell you whats in it, what was done, why it was done, what wasn't done and why it should have been done.
Hmm.. wonder if that would be a useful service?

But there is a main difference between what we(AutoLogic) do and what Diablo/Superchips does.
We are geared more toward custom tuning. We pioneered that many years ago. We sell the tools to allow the tuners to tune your vehicle when they have it right in front of them, say on a dyno. That is the ultimate way to get your vehicle tuned as no 2 vehicles are really alike even if they have the same parts. The tuner is the one changing spark, fuel, transmission..., he's not replying on somebody possibly 3000 miles away to make judgement calls on what should be done.

It not easy to find a Diablo or Superchips dealer that have tuning ability at thier facility. Most all of them call up and download a file that was previously calibrated. And if it needs changing, they call them back up and download a new file then burn it into a chip. Burning a chip is a far cry from tuning it.

JDM is one of them that has tuning ability, as does any of our dealers.

True not everyone can have their vehicle tuned on a dyno or at the track and you must go mail order. Those are tough to do and I give credit to ANYONE who does them.

AutoLogic isn't the biggest chip manufacturing company, we don't spend the big dollars on magazine ads and things like the other guys do. We focus all of our attention into making tools the chip tuners use, to be the best they can be.

Remember, you have a given amount of time/resources. Dividing it up across 30 product models vs say 5.. which ones get more attention?

Also, please tell me what Diablosport software you have seen? What makes it more versitile?

Yeah, it's easy to poke fun at the Aerostar, but it's someone's favorite vehicle.
The software that I have seen will allow shop tuners to alter fuel, timing, rev limiters, etc... Just like what you're offering your dealers, DiabloSport will be offering to their dealers. Dealers will be able to tune right there on their own dyno...no need to rely on someone 3000 miles away.
I've seen your software as well and it's nice too. Obviously there is a demand for this type of thing or Diablo probably wouldn't spend the time to develop it.

For those companies that "mail order" chips...I think they do a pretty darn good job since most of the fast vehicles that we read about have these "mail order" chips.

Versitle in the sense that they will work on a greater selection of vehicles.

I was not poking fun at Aerostars.
Merely stating the fact we don't spend our resources to make chips for each and every vehicle Ford makes.
The 100 hours it may take to develop ChipMaster for Aerostars to get maybe a few sales is better spent say trying to determine why Ford never enabled the knock sensor in a 99-00 Lightning and the methods to enable it/calibrate it (yes, this is in ChipMaster)

It's not that we wouldn't like to do every vehicle, it just isn't always feasable for us to do it.
Using the Aerostar as an example again, I've had maybe 3 requests for chips since they came out years ago. I got 80 requests for ChipMaster for the 2001 Mustang the day the car hit the dealer floor.

As for Diablo's Revolution software. Again it's something we pioneered years ago. I have seen it myself also. They were showing it at the PRI show.

Looking at Diablo's website, I don't see any vehicles they do that we don't.
Superchips does the most by a longshot.

And I agree with you 100% on mail order chips. Like I said, they are tough to do.
You must balance everything since you do not know the condition of the vehicle or the enviornment. Dyno/track tuned chip is ideal, but a chip from a knowledgable tuner can work very well.

I guess I judge what's versitle by what you can do with it and not how many different ones you have. I know what's in everyone's chips. I see whats changed and what's not. I can tell who's using copies of who's chips and who is doing them from scratch (you'd be amazed).
It's the "what's not's" that tell me who's tuning software is most versitle.

From what I've seen, the DiabloSport software is much more versitile than the autologic stuff. It also covers the entire Ford line, not just a few select models.

The DiabloSport program for the 01 Lightning hasn't been officially released yet. The program that the dealer gave you was only meant for testing.
