Vacuum leak?

I posted a similar thread at nloc, but the main question is:

When I turn my engine off and I DO NOT hear the hiss from the vacuum, is that a sign of a Vac leak? I'll be checking a lot more hoses when I get home today... But I want to make sure I'm not TOTALLY off.

here's the other part of the post:
It goes into boost really quickly and doesn't give the same amount of power as it used to. For instance when I hit the gas a bit, and go around 8lbs it defiantly does not feel like 8lbs.

Also I've checked some of the vac lines, but haven't had a lot of time this past weekend. Will get on it soon.

Old stuff:
But when driving it I noticed that the gas petal isn't stiff, and it shifts VERY smooth. Funny enough they are desired things, but unnatural for our trucks.

The biggest thing I've noticed is that I've lost a LOT of torque (power in general). When completely stopped and hitting the gas a bit i usually feel a big pull, but now it's more gradual.

Some mods: JDM 6# Lower Pulley, JDM Single blade Throttle body, JDM Line Valve Mod, Kooks Jet hot coated Long Tube Headers, JDM Magnaflow Silver Bullit exhaust, High flow cats, PI 2400 Stall Converter, AF1, I think there's a spacer for the upper plenum.

Thanks guys for the help.

Guy relax there, your just got used to your truck. Don`t worry, it still makes power. It`s not new to you anymore.

Huh? Kinda confused cause I've always had a hisssss sound after I turn off the truck. I found other people had this on the forum and it's just the vac releasing the pressure, and was normal. That's why when it stopped I thought something was wrong. Also I found one tube that was coming off, and things got a little better when i shoved it back in. I'll check it out some more tomorrow.

From: Colorado,
I have a vacum leak to.
I've asked about it before. Mine comes more from the bell housing area. When I bought my truck brand new one of the bell housing inspection cover bolts was loose. It makes a noise when in high vacum like a sqeak. It's hard to describe.
When I shut my truck off it is a long hiss or howl like it just made a shiiiiiiiooooo, almost sound like one of them toy rubber ducky's but longer.

Sounds rediculous I know. It's been there since day one and I figured I would take it in if it got worse but it doesn't always do it ether.

Oh well,

Yours may not be an oh well, there is a PCV rubber elbow that runs off the bottom of the lower intake. It can and does break down over time and could be your problem, be the way it is a pain in the a$$ to get at.

From: Colorado,
Thanks
I'll get a tube or something down in that area and see if I can hear it better.

If it was that wouldn't the sound be there everytime I drive it?

If I ever find it I will sure document and post about it.

It may, it depends on the amount of deterioration of the fitting..
