the q-forms will fit without bending the e-brake pedal, but if you want to be able to USE the e-brake, you'll have to bend it.

Nice work clonetek. Which amp are you using? I was thinking about 2 square 12's also. I just did not know what amp yet. Post pics when your done, and let us know how you like it.

Thanks

clonetek,
You must have been reading my mind!! I was thinking of doing the exact same setup except use 10" Solobarics behind the seat. I see you are able to put 12's in w/o much of a problem. Could you send me the dimensions for your box, email me if you don't mind at jacowen@us.ibm.com Did the box cause you to lose any legroom? Can you still fold down the center console? Sorry for all the questions, I am just really excited about seeing what my future system is gonna look like! Thanks.

One last thing, after you get it all installed you will have to post and tell how hard those hit! Thanks.

i lost a few clicks on the seats.. nothing too terrible.
with the seat all the way back, i cant fold the armrest down. to do so i will have to move the seat forward, then put the armrest up and move seat back.
kind of a lot of trouble you say? well, with all the other junk i keep in my truck, it only takes a couple of seconds.

i dont know the exact measurements for my box, but they are .88 cubic feet per side.
i love to install car audio stuff, but i HATE building boxes. hehehe
i had a car stereo place make it for me..
3/4 inch MDF sealed with silicon & bondo.

there is a stereo compition the weekend after next, so hopefully i'll have it ready to be tested.

Clonetek,

Was the price of the box reasonable? Could you send me an email (john893@hotmail.com) if you don't want to post here what it cost you and who did it? I asked two dealers in my area, both I have done business with in the past and they wanted $180-220 for a single box for a 10" square sub. I even told them that I already had the dimensions and air space figured out! I don't know if other people think that is a good price but when I did my cobra stereo it cost me under $30 to build the box and that was for 2 12" subs with a lot of customization.

This is what I am trying to build but nothing having too much luck. I wonder what it would cost to have someone do it for me?

This is Zbornac’s stereo. He seams to be missing from this board and email.

clonetek I did get a chance to read what you typed. Thank you very much for posting the prices.

How offten do you go to the shop? Would it but a huge pain to take a pic of that stereo setup to your dealer and ask how much just to make the boxes and amp rack? I don't care about the carpet or vinyl, because I can do that my self?

If it is out of your way I understand.

Thanks for all your help so far.

John

prices so far: (at suncoast sound in my home town)
build/install box: $120
build/install amprack & cover it in tweed: $30
$30-40 bucks for 2 yards of tweed.

a carpet covered box for 1 10" square solobaric shouldnt be more than $50-60 bucks.

shop around some & see what you come up with..
try this too-
go to shop #1, tell them that shop #2 quoted you a price of 60 bucks to build you a box. ask them if they can beat that price.
try that at both stores.. speaker boxes are like 75% profit. they can come down some if they want you to buy everything else from them.
