I guess I'm too cheap, however I like the Open Face Helmet and don't belong to NHRA. I did e mail local NHRA Track and the reply stated:
NHRA's requirement is snell 90 or newer helmet on driver inb cars that go
quicker than 13.99. If your question is about a bike its full face helmet
with snell 90 or newer on all pilots
If you would look at the Rules and Check for me I'd appreciate it because it may be a little informal around here compared to St. Louis. (WFC) or Texas for that matter.

On NHRA site they just post revisions, Notice one for Snell 95
On Snells website they say to throw away Helmet after 5 Yrs.
