My helmet is full face. I dont like wearing it but since I have it on for less than a minute at a time, I figure the more protection the better.

I ordered a G-Force open face from Jeg's and love it. It's a Snell SA 2000 approved model that will pass all tech inspections for $149. White or black with nomex liner.

I would buy a helmet from a shop where I could try it on.

A helmet that doesn't fit, doesn't work.

Wyldman,

I guess I'm too cheap, however I like the Open Face Helmet and don't belong to NHRA. I did e mail local NHRA Track and the reply stated:

NHRA's requirement is snell 90 or newer helmet on driver inb cars that go
quicker than 13.99. If your question is about a bike its full face helmet
with snell 90 or newer on all pilots

If you would look at the Rules and Check for me I'd appreciate it because it may be a little informal around here compared to St. Louis. (WFC) or Texas for that matter.

Jim

On NHRA site they just post revisions, Notice one for Snell 95

On Snells website they say to throw away Helmet after 5 Yrs.
