Cool FINALLY! I'm in the 10 second club!

R/T: .314
60': 1.603
330: 4.510
1/8: 6.966
MPH: 99.68
1000: 9.089
1/4: 10.875
MPH: 126.52

I need some suspension work or something because I couldn't get this thing to 60' for anything. The 10 was on my 10/10th run. My first was my slowest of the day. The truck weighed 4680 and I ran two different tunes. My (boost) race tune is 18 PSI, 16* timing, and 11.3 A/F. My (nitrous) race tune is 18 PSI, 11* timing, and a super-pig-rich A/F that was anywhere between 10.8 and 9.8 depending on the shot. It was more toward the 10.8 on the 75 shot and richer on the 100 shot. I'm gonna talk to Rick about leaning-out the nitrous tune a little. Like I said, I couldn't get it to 60', so I threw in the 100 shot jets for one run and the above time is what it produced. I know it has a lot left in it but I need to do some work...

I was messing with the rear shocks a lot to see what setting would be the best for this track. I ended up going with 2 clicks on the drivers side rear and 3 clicks on the passenger side rear. The fronts were zeroed out. I started out with the rears all the way stiff and adjusted down from there. You can see in some of my last runs that the dialing of the shocks was working for me....

1: 60' - 1.678 / ET - 11.494 @ 118.45
2: 60' - 1.635 / ET - 11.331 @ 119.15
3: 60' - 1.645 / ET - 11.352 @ 117.78
4: 60' - 1.636 / ET - 11.280 @ 120.77
5: 60' - 1.711 / ET - 11.331 @ 123.01
6: 60' - 1.774 / ET - 11.346 @ 123.79
7: 60' - 1.578 / ET - 11.243 @ 122.69 (Fuel was too low and bogged the engine on launch)
8: 60' - 1.569 / ET - 11.151 @ 125.90 (Same fuel issue. This is where I realized that the fuel was too low)
9: 60' - 1.618 / ET - 11.082 @ 124.10
10: Time listed above...

I think I would've ripped off some better times on runs 7 & 8 if my fuel wasn't too low. It caused my engine to bog/stutter right after the launch. I added some more fuel after run 8 and it solved the issue.

I'm happy with the 10 but I'm kinda sad that it took a 100 shot to make it happen. I know this truck is capable of all boost 10's, but it needs some work.

You have that truck flying , "Hot lapping a 10 second pass" Was your first pass boost only or did you gas it on every pass?

No spray for the first 5 runs and a 75 shot for runs 6-9. I used the 100 shot on the last pass. I didn't hot-lap any of the runs. I tried to allow it a little cool down time between runs.

WOO HOO CONGRATS T
Hey Bro 10's aint no easy feat in a 5K truck, YOU DID REAL GOOD

FYI my shock set up is 5 clicks front and back 24/7 on the street
At the track I dont touch the rears but I bring the fronts down to 2 clicks.
16 lbs in the Rear Hoosiers, (I forgot what psi in the fronts)
3 Dif people driving my truck last time out and it was on frigging rails I tell ya

(ME)
1.454 - 60FT
4.158 - 330
6.403 - 1/8 Mile @ 109.28 MPH
8.343 - 1000FT
9.992 - 1/4 Mile @ 136.75

(Mike)
1.454 - 60FT
4.175 - 330
6.430 - 1/8 Mile @ 108.89 MPH
8.376 - 1000FT
10.028 - 1/4 Mile @ 136.46

(Vinnie)
1.413 - 60FT
4.160 - 330
6.439 - 1/8 Mile @ 107.81 MPH
8.404 - 1000FT
10.071 - 1/4 Mile @ 135.25

We all had a 1.4 60ft, we all had a 4.1 330, we all had a 6.4 1/8th, and even at the 1000ft and 1/4 we were all within 100ths of a sec apart. Proper cool down and the JDM Tuning was my success (it's the FIRST TIME I did it right).
But I think the JDM front Drag Springs are a HUGE HELP too, (look at what Jim just ran with his Mag on all Boost with them) other than that my truck is stock suspension and I have no cooling tanks, batt relocate, etc....

As you said you have A LOT more in it (another second to claim yet), If I had to guess I would agree with you 100% and your N20 tune is simply too fat.
And dont give me no BS about you NOT hot lapping, 10 runs in one day

I may never have the perfect conditions I had that day, but I do know there's 3/10ths to even more in just proper cool down, in your case you have up to 2/10ths to take off that 60ft hence giving you another 3/10ths - 4/10th's on teh other end, hell thats already like 3/10ths away....

Thanks Rob! Believe it or not, I did give the L some time to cool down between each of those 10 passes. There were a lot of people at the track but for some reason there was always room in the lanes. How long do you usually give your L to cool down between passes? I try to get mine to where the coolant temp is around 170 by the time I'm staging. I run the efan all the way up until I'm doing my burn-out. Then I shut it off. I will try some different settings on my rear QA1's this weekend in hopes of bettering my 60's. But I just need more seat time to figure out where this thing likes to launch. I'm also going to try and get my hands on some 02 leafs and swap out my 03 leafs. It seems like some of the faster guys are running those leafs. I was running 15 PSI in the Hoosiers all day Saturday. I may try to increase the pressures a little and see what happens. Rick will be at the track this weekend so he can help me get the 100 shot a little leaner and pick up a few more ponies. I'm shooting for 10.5 or faster but we'll see....
