Going built in NJ. Need advice
I'm looking at the option of going built this winter, for no other reason then I have the funds and I want to, haha.
But anyways, I obviously know about JDM, but their prices are a bit steep. Does anyone know of a quality engine builder anywhere in NJ? And also, I don't know if I want to do everything locally, or buy a motor online, and just have it installed locally.
Any help would be appreciated guys.

You get what you pay for
Yes JDM isn't the cheepest, but there engines are very well built, and there work is top notch. My built engine is still running strong after 5 years.
You can try to save some money, you might end up with a good motor, or you might run into the worst headache of your life.

I agree with Don, your in Jersey why go anywhere else? There are many solid builders who can put you together a solid engine package but can they install and service it, not unless it's over the phone. IMO wait until JDM does a christmas short block or head special ect.. and put together a motor.

What they said. They are on your doorstep. Makes perfect sence. You will be happy with the results. At least call them and ask to speak to Jim Jr. He will take care of you.
I just had my motor rebuilt with all the JDM stuff.
Went 11.02 at over 1 mile elevation! All boost. That's good for a pretty low 10 in good air.
Here is a vid of that pass.

JDM all the way. There's no such thing as overpriced when it comes to quality. I've tried to take the cheap route and it only cost me more money. I eventually ended up at JDM having them redo everything the cheap guy screwed up. 4 years and hundreds of problem free 10 second passes later I couldn't be happier. As long as I own a Ford, JDM will be the only place that ever touches it.

I bit the bullit and went built by jdm less the two months ago.. I know that they might be a little steep in prices but imo you pay for what you get!! I had complete confidence in their work and knew i was getting 110% satisfaction. You might save money with other vendors and maybe even pay half of what we that went built through jdm will pay but then you are flipping the coin and taking a chance.. With me its worth the money to pay for their work.. just my opinion, but when you leave their shop you have no worries..
