Question Should I screw them?

No, I'm not talking about the Coors Twins....LOL.... I'm talking about my 15X10 Bogarts. I'm debating on whether I should use rim screws on them or not. I remember Frank5L saying that he doesn't use them and to just make sure no lubricant is used when they're mounted. I have some rim screws but don't want to drill these $800 wheels unless it's necessary. I'll be running Hoosier 30X10.5-15 tires on them. What say you???

Spencer, I'd hold off, run them and see if you get any slip, if you do thens the time to make a decision, regardless I'd think long and hard before breaking out the Dewalt on a 800.00 wheels.

Spencer unless you plan de-tuning your truck, you will have to screw them.. With the power level you are at then hells yea you need to screw them.. I am making less HP then you and I have my Bogarts screwed.. I had the 28" hoosiers and spun the rim around the slick with 500hp.. my advice screw them..

100% agree. Same thing here...only I was having rims slip with 475 HP. They would move about two inches on every launch. The day I got to the end of the track and realized my tires where flat, I decided that was enough. I also run tubes and that put a stop to the bull$h!t of constantly adding air after every other pass. Best two tire mods I ever did.

if your going to run tubes, then you definitly need to screw them. i ruined 2 tubes because the tire slipped. destroyed them on the very 1st pass. why chance your life just because you you dont want to drill into a set of rims.

I agree (anytime you have a chance to screw GO FOR IT !!! ) hehehe ; o )

T, with screws THEY STILL LOOK BAD A$$ (hell mine even have tape over the weights)
They are under MASSIVE tq during a 1.3/1.4 launch and the rims WILL SPIN without being screwed.

To tell you the truth I think they look even meaner screwed

I think the recommended amount is 8 per side. You can get some Moroso Grade-8 Rim Screws here...

The Moroso screws are 3/4 of a inch long, and will go right threw the bead of the slick. If you stick with a screw thats only 1/2 inch long it will grab into the bead, but not go through

I will see if I can find the right size, but might take a day or so

Thanks for the tip Don. If you could look for them that would be great. I'm gonna go check out my local hardware store and see if they have them.
