Friday morning 9:10 AM, I was driving 40Mph in the middle lane. A Nascar type car appeared next to me, the front spoiler almost hitting the asphalt, a gigantic wing on the back. The front of the car was red with white flames. The back white flames flowing into the wing, I slowed down and saw his back, it was a Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo. She was looking real sharp modded to the max. I know that a stock Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo is a fast car, but this thing was looking real mean. We were approaching a red light. A flash of thoughts went through my mind - I hate to race in the city-the red light became closer, we where driving next to each other about 20 yards from the light changing red to green. The hell with everything, about 200 yards ahead I see some cars. I stomped on the throttle. Amazingly the lightning was pulling away from the Nissan. At 95 Mph the cars ahead were pretty close, I brake and
back to 40. The Nissan is now next to me and I see the expression on the driver’s face - the look in his eyes (impossible, smoked by a truck) he takes a right street and disappears.

I raced a 300ZX Twin Turbo a few weeks ago. I posted here about it. Anyway the one I raced had two huge tailpipes. We raced a few times from a roll and from a stop to about 100mph. My L's only mod at that time was a PSP intake. Each time I walked him by about 2 lengths also. I ran into him again after I had installed my JDM chip. We raced from a roll. This time it was no contest. I jumped a car length from a roll and was pulling hard.
I think stock they are mid 13 sec cars with a 0-60 of around 5.2secs.

Just don't get to arrogant because you will meet up with one some day that will make you look foolish. There is some very fast rice rockets, as you put it that will clean up modded Lightnings with ease. Don't get me wrong I really like my L but my (rice rocket) will make my L look like a escort..

If that was a modded to the max twin-turbo 300zx It would have killed you. It was probably an old tired stock 300 with more money into the looks than into the speed..Just my opinion, not trying to start a lightning / import comparision because in all truth it wouldn't be fair. Stock against Stock would be good races but modded VRS. modded the imports are way ahead..Sorry if the truth hurts, but since I have both I can tell you the truth and it doesn't hurt my feeling at all

Yep, I raced a 11 sec Talon. Not a pretty result for me.

2 liter turbo: 340 hp@6500 303lb.ft@3000 rpm ?! 0-60mph in 4.0, 0-100 in 10.0 seconds ?!!!

 

You will always run into somebody that is faster. Tell them to put a sofa in/on their ride and race. My modified Ducati will wax any car that has to turn a couple of times and most rice-rockets 2-wheelers. Pick your shots with the L and we will not have to hear about getting beat by a 500 hp ha ha honda.

 

Last I heard, no Evolution VI for us, EPA crash test problems. Best Nippon car I saw other than the modded NXS's.

For $30K I almost bought one, but could never get used to right hand drive. Walked and took the train for 2 years, for an American that must of been a record.

BTW a 300-zx is called a fair lady in Japan.

Now we are comparing modified motorcycles to cars, come on..I wasn't trying to dog lightnings I was just trying to let FD know that there was no way he was racing a (modded to the max) 300zx TT. I'm also not saying that he didn't race one, just that it wasn't modded much at all. Because if it was he would have lost. Also i will agree that no matter how fast you are there will always be someone faster and that goes for Ducati's too.
