intercooler problem solved!
Tuesday I had the Magnaflow 12568 installed and checked intercooler level, AOK.
Just a few minutes ago installed the PIAA not exactly fun on mine. Checked the level and AOK, totally dry, WTF, ARRRRRRRRRGG.
This was my 2nd one replaced and it lasted 3400 miles. That’s right it is my 3rd intercooler for this truck, now I'll be working on #4.
Conclusion, the Magnaflow eats intercoolers from the backside in.
13,769 miles of hell for this poor thing.
Have a good weekend everyone, I won't.
Thanks Black2000, minutes not minuts.

Three intercoolers. Holy cow. Maybe this board should be renamed the "1 percent club". I'm sorry and I feel your pain. But isn't it fun dropping your truck off at the dealership and watching some 17 year old pimply faced kid drive off in your pride and joy.
So, aftermarket mufflers must cause IC leaks.

OK the title was a joke, but the problem is real.
I got a new muffler on Tuesday and I don't think it's reasonable that anyone would believe that I've gone through 3 intercoolers since then.
I doubt it's the exhaust (no *****), but WTF Ford/SVT can't figure it out anytime soon. So we might as well have some fun with it.
My first one went @ about 6000 miles, second one went @ about 10,000, third @ 13,600. I measured than escape rate for the first one by refilling it once and it took about a week to expire. The second one I just turned it in. This one took 3 days to completely drain, you should of seen my face when I saw it. I just sort of sighed and thought to myself go figure, I'll take a better look after the lights are installed.
I wonder if the 2001's will be any better than the 99-00? I remember that Ford tested the 99-00 L's for 100,000 miles without this intercooler problem being discovered. I wonder if Ford tested the 2001 intercooler for more than 100,000 miles? Hell I wonder if they even do anything that's not just computered modeled.
Warning posted below is the proof that the Magnaflow was the culprit.
Caution humor is involved, poor humor at that.

Disclaimer: If you are reading this board for the first time, this too, is a joke. And if you just bought a '99-'00 Bolt, you had better develop a sense of humor quickly.

Other causes: Starting engine, radio on AM, using turn signals, and setting the parking brake. All known causes of cooler leaks.
