can i fit a smaller tire?
can i fit a 295/35/18 on my lightning stock rims? i see a pair of BF GOODRICH GFORCE TA KDW 2 TIRES.295/35 ZR18 for sale and am interested in them. would there be any problems with running a thinner tire??? please get back to me asap because the auction is ending soon. thanks alot guys!!!
only things I can think of is the rougher ride(some notice some don't), they will look Smaller in the stock wheel openings, heck it takes a 20 to properly fill a stock wheel opening (I still won't do it though)
the biggest possable problem for daily driving that I've heard of is the differant tire hieghts front and rear throwing of your ABS sensors and making it do wierd things. I've never run differant sizes front and rear so I can't say from personal experiance

Superlift makes a speedo adjustment box. Had one on my F250. Works great and you can do it yourself. And keep adjusting for different size tires, not a one time deal, it can be adjusted by GPS to match up perfectly.
I would not run that tire for a few reasons, primarily it's load rating is about 500 pounds lower than the stock tires, that equals to being able to handle a half ton less tire loading at each end of the truck, this is a huge saftey risk in my book and should immediatley deter you from using such a tire.
Less important reasons include, but are not limited to: Ride quality, rim protection, lower fuel mileage due to higher rpms to maintain a given speed, and they would loook kinda goofy.
The few advantages to a smaller O.D. tire are, slightly improved acceleration, braking and improved steering response, you notice I did not say "handling or grip" because the deflection of a taller sidewall can actually add compliance and thusly better road holding in certain situations.
You would also need to run a considerably higher air pressure in the thinner tires to compensate for the reduced load carrying ability of the tires and this will increase the wear and tear on all of your suspension components (tierods, wheel bearings, balljoints, etc.)
overall a bad idea......
If you have any more questions I am here to help.
