Has anyone tried to install a Harley Davidson "Billet-Style" Grille on their "L"??? It looks like the same grill, except with some chrome trim on it. Would like to have one on my "L", but am afraid to buy it and find out it won't fit. Anyone???

Funny, I was thinking that exact thing! I think that grill would look awesome on any color Lightning.A visit to Ford with careful observation should prove that it should fit.I have a dealer near me that has both the H.D. and an L right next to eachother .I'll check it out in the next day or so and report back.

 

Answered my own question this morning. Took my "L" into the dealer for a remote starter install, and looked at a 2001 HD Model while I was there. The 2001 HD had a chrome billet style grill just like the "L", and I'm sure it would fit. But the lower grill in the airdam is not chrome. In fact, it was a completely different airdam. Does anyone know of a chrome billet grill for the "L" that has a mount for the Ford Oval?

Check a little closer and I think you will find that the "billet" grill on the HD is in fact plastic. At least it is on my 2000.

I think you need to look again because I have not seen a 2001 yet that has a chrome lower grill on the top grille

I believe that Chris Titus has the trenz billet grills that alot of us run. If you compare the pics of his truck with mine in my zing album I think you will find out that they are the same grills..Bill

Thats weird.I just came back from looking at a 4 door H.D. and it HAD a chrome lower grill.Maybe the 2001 4 doors have it and the 2000 extra cab didn't???
