What I said is that I do not believe the data. You may have honestly reported what you saw but I do not trust a G-tech meter. Nothing more, nothing less.

I love this guy 'you can't compare a 99-00 to a 2001' OK stop your killing me! A 2001 with a Superchip and air filter is nothing more than a 99-00 with the same and a PRO-M MAF, maybe just a little more like .1-.2 seconds. The 373's, who in the HELL doesn't have a set?

You have some major *****, dude. Your condescending attitude that changing your oil, plugs, and a few miles on a 2001 will bring you 12.6, is just insulting.

Man we've been around for almost 2 years trying everything under the sun and not one of us have gone any faster with new oil, plugs (you can search on that one for hours) or 2000 miles Hell there are maybe 20 guys reporting on this forum that can do a 12.6 and it’s not from bolt-ons, it’s from fine tuning a little of everything. You haven’t been around long enough to know but your new adversaries are mostly 99 owners, we know what’s going on with this truck, stop the RICE reports. I also suggest that you trade in your G-Tech for a 2001 ***-o-meter or will that also provide absurd results (this is funny to to the “in” folks)?

You're new to this Lightning gig and it shows. Take the above advice tuck tail, change your handle, and come back as a 2002 owner. You have lost all creditability.

BTW my day job is Mr. Nice guy. Insert pseudo smiley face here, not!

Thumbs up

BABolt,

It looks like my post here is waking up the whole lightning community, and with very divided opinions.
Anyway, I think you are right time slips will clarify a lot.

Good luck and drive safely

Cool

Mr. Igogether,

Your experience and ultimate mathematical wisdom is really too much for me.
So, Mr. Nice guy go with your wisdom to SVT and tell them that the difference between a 99 – 00 and 01 is only 1-2s, Come on dude are you trying to pull something???

Hey FlyingDutchman, in this thread, you have been hit by the clue-bat at least a dozen times and you still don't get it. Change your handle, start over and try not to be such a knuckle-head next time!!!

Sonic,
You can get high octane fuel at some gas stations (local Sunoco has Turbo Blue, which is a little over 100 octane, I believe). There is also CAM2 which is ~100 octane. Look at stations close to a track and you will probably be able to find some.
Later,
Roger

Why didnt you say these times were done with a g-tech in the first place? You made it sound like you did this at a track. Truly the best part I like about this forum is the presumed trust among everyone. When I saw your times I was in complete shock, and really considered for the first buying a 2001 Lightning. You made a mistake with showing your times the way you did. Maybe you should change your handle and maybe you shouldnt but the best thing you can do is fess up and see how people respond to it. Maybe you might be surprised.

One thing I don't understand is if you were not trying to be misleading, why did toy post 60' times? The g-tech will give 0-60 mph times, but not 60' times, you only get that at the track.

I was just plain sick at first when I saw my modded '00 is a dog compared to the 01's. I agree with those that have said the G-Tech is just a tool. I use mine all the time to "show differences" in this mod & that one. Not to rely on it for real numbers.

FWIW, I think you are seeing what you say in the display. I think you have a messed up G-Tech. My first one (that I sent back) was off some 40hp as compared to a real dyno. My current G-Tech Pro is within 2 or 3 hp of the dyno. I don't do the 1/4's very often because I don't want to kill somebody at over 100 mph on the highway.

Do yourself a favor and do a hp run too. You should see ~370-375 hp if your G-Tech is accurate.

I'm not flaming you and I'd like to know what it shows for Hp.

Wow, that was a very misleading post. I'm sure you got alot of us to think the 01 runs much stronger than it really does.

You stated that you went to the "strip"--that surely implied to everyone that you went to an actual 1/4 mile track.

You did not indicate those were g-tech times.

You posted 60' foot times and according to bggroth the g-tech does not have that function (I do not have a g-tech, therefore I do not know if your unit has that function or not), but if it doesn't, then wow, how do you post that info without data.

After reading this post and seeing all the responses, some people with favorable responses and other's not, it now opens my eyes and make me seriously question everyone's best time in their sigs. If some best times shown are track times, some are Gtech and some are Vericom, then nobody really knows what anyones actual performance of their vehicle is. I guess it would be nice for everyone's best time in their sig to be qualified with the method this time was obtained.

Well all we have proven here is that "fish is brain food", and "West Teaxs Jack Rabbit" is not.

Cool

I stated that I run my first times with a G-Tech, If I want to compare, YOU ALL KNOW VERY WELL THE 2 TIME IT WILL BE WITH A G-TEGH TO. In the beginning of this thread, some people even mentioned it.

"FlyingDutchman posted his first runs earlier and those were G-Tech times."
HANKFAN

Like I stated next time I will post time slips.
