Post Migraines...off topic...Cures?

Of all the places I post this one gets the most hits and responses so I was wondering, does anyone ever get migraines. I get them so bad I can't see at all, today is one of those days. If you guys get them please remember I am at work, so remedies like "Sex" will not work...Thanks in advance.

Staring at a computer screen works best for me!

Beyond that, moving to a place that has only one climate is probably best.

If all else fails, park on the street. It reduces stress for all. LOL

Actually, take a deep breath. Now lightly sort of knead or massage your face and back of neck and don't make any sudden jerking movements with your head or anything. You should be ok

Usually a couple glasses of water works for me and a small snack.

Certainly I am not an advocate of anything illegal, but this I found this insite of possible cure...

"In California, Health & Safety Code 11362.5 specifically mentions migraines one of the diagnoses approved for the medical use of marijuana. Along with authorization from your physician, using marijuana for this ailment is supported in California."

Not sure if that is legit or not. You could always move to Cali.

I've had them for 15 years now. I am an EXPERT! Imitrex will kill your migraine faster than anything. You need a prescription. Also, I take a beta-blocker every day and I dont get many anymore headaches. I used to get them everyday, and while driving home at night i would have to wear sunglasses. Not a very safe practice. My advice is when you get a migraine, take ONLY excederin because it has caffene. You WANT caffene when you have a migraine, because it constricts the dialation of the blood vessels in your head, helping to relieve the pain. Since this is in the lightning forum, I must say that I am waiting impatiently for my new Red '01 Lightning, I sold my '00 L a little too early. Email if you have more questions dav85719@aol.com. But you probably have to see a doctor to get rid of the migraines.

One of the primary ingredients in the older migraine prescriptions is caffeine. It does help MOST people quite a bit. There are newer prescriptions available that can stop a migraine immediately. My suggestion is to see your doctor & ask about Imitrex. It comes in 3 forms - tablet, injection or spray. I am a pharmacy technician & have had nearly every patient tell me it is nothing short of a miracle for them to be able to stop a migraine as it starts. I am NOT saying that it is the perfect med for everyone - only your doctor can decide if you should try it. I just know from the feedback I've received that the people using it really find it helps. In the meantime you can try drinking something with caffeine to see if it offers some relief. Hope you feel better.

Deep I wish it were that easy for me. I have been getting them for a few years now.

Murfs I am moving to Cali, but I don't get high.

Dave
A lot of people say to get a prescription, I think I am just leary of it because I saw a commercial for migraine meds and at the end it had a long list of side effects (including death) that seem just as bad as the migraine... I take Excedrin Migraine and that takes the edge off... but definitely not a cure...I am up to 4 every 6-8 hours...
