Nigel and BBQ Thanks I hope they go away soon too. There was about a 6 month period at the end of last year where I didn't have one and then one morning I woke up and couldn't hardly move it hurt so bad, now they come back about 2 times a month.

CA,
damn, I feel for you girl. Never had them myself, but long time ago had a girlfriend that had them. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. She used to drink really strong cold coffee to help.

CA,

Imitrex is the only thing that helped when my wife used to get her headaches, my neighbor also takes it for her skull-busters.

See your Dr. and get the meds. It will help.

CA,

I have been saddled with migraines since my late teens. I am now 47. I am, however, one of the fortunate ones who does not get the crippling headaches. I can experience a severe "aura" prior to the headache, blocking my vision temporarily. The treatments mentioned by the other posts are basically true. They use Imitrex for the pain of the headache. It works very well.

There are several universities currently studying the migranes. If you are interested, they are Univ. of Kansas Medical, Johns Hopkins, Albert Einstien College of Medicine and Thomas jefferson University Hospital. Use the internet, it can provide many sources. Hope this helps you out.

CA-
Sam used to get them all the time. He somehow knew when one was coming on (I don't get them, so I have no idea how they work) and would take an Imitrex shot as soon as he could get to it. It'd usualy make him vomit a little bit right after he took it, but his headache would go away (or wouldn't come on at all if he got medication soon enough) and the nausea would subside in about 15 minutes.

I don't know if it will help your headaches, but it might ease your mind. I work in Aurora, and if your interested in selling some of your stockpiled F1's I'd be very interested. Besides your garage must be over-flowing.

Morning guys,

It's odd that this post came back up this morning because I am sitting here with another migraine. I can't remember the last time they came this close together. I do have a Dr appointment on the 28th and hopefully then he can give me something that will help. Of course to make matters worse I have a big window in my office and it snowed all weekend so it's about 10x brighter out then normal. Gus I remember you telling me about Sams headaches a long time ago. Remember how I told you that I didn't want to take anything with all the possible side effects...I've changed my mind :P

On a sidenote, Peter, my company is bringing an office to the Phoenix area with out latest merger. It seems like things are falling into place in a weird way for me and I have a couple of months to decide so I am weighing the pros and cons of Phoenix vs Calif and I haven't yet decided on No or So Cal. Maybe you and I could email and I could ask you a few questions. I really liked the idea of being close to the beach in CA but I guess you can't always have everything. What is the elevation in Phoenix?

Nix,
I might be selling them. If I do I will email you direct before I put them on here.

CA

Get a new boy friend!

Seriously, how about acupuncture? Might work and better than taking powerful chemicals that have nasty side effects. My brother had acute back pain, and after six acupuncture treatments, it went away. Maybe get the medicine in case the acupuncture does not work.
