Tire update.

Phoenix does not make a DOT drag tire. I checked with NHRA and regular slicks can run in the street class. Must have a D/L loop. Your track may be different. If anyone is still interested check out the site below and let me know what size. i will post prices as I get them. http://www.phoenixtire.com

I had to laugh, The fabricater told me today that there would be no problem with tomorrows test as long as it was not raining, he did not want to get wet (he has no room in his shop). This is coming from a gentleman that's endod a way fast circle track car 6 times and lived to tell the story. I think he is going to a local Ford store for the fitment test. I will keep you informed. That sounds good to me at least the wheels are turning! I pray for sun in Cali. I checked the price of all my other mods I'm getting this week and I'll have just enough left over for these rims.
Thanks

Cool

Rained all morning, but there has been a break in the weather for about 3 hours now. Must be the Ford SVT Lightning Gods say that this should happen! Hoping for good news soon. My F-1's can't take it anymore!

Mike,
Even your last post sounded beat when I read it. I changed my mind on the 16's I'd like a set of 15x10's so I don't need to buy them later.

I called at 9:30am Pacific and spoke to the fellow that builds the centers. It was done but not in the shell. The main man was not in. I could not get back until 5:09 and no answer. I will call first thing in the am and post....Mike, LIGHTNING PERFORMANCE

Mike,
When I mounted my ET streets on the spare tire rims I tried to use the innertubes but the tubes have the air stem right in the middle so I could not use them. Are these rims going to have the whole for the air stem in the middle so we can run tubes with them? I for one would like to run tubes in case there are any leaks. I hate air leaks.
Thanks,
Larry

I called about 9:30 in the AM (3/8) and spoke to the man. The wheel was done but maybe it would not get tested because of a Dr. appoitment. I heard nothing back so I'll cal again in the AM.....Mike, LIGHTNING PERFORMANCE

Dont put holes in for tubes. If someone wants to waste their time and money let them drill their own holes. Most of us are NOT running the tubes.

Noelvm,
This could easily be up to the individual ordering the rims. I just want the option of being able to run tubes. Aftermarket special order rims have a tendency to leak no matter how good the wheel maker is. The MTT #3755's 28.2x12.5x15 are more pressure sensitive than shorter sidewall tires like the 26'ers, not just for launching but for safety at the end of the track. I just thought I would mention to Mike that some may want to run tubes. I would like to use tubes for one, with lots of baby powder.

One here who is running the tubes just bought a bit for the correct size and drilled his rims. Round out the holes for burrs and it worked fine.
