need help picking out an aftermarket torque converter

my buddy has an 02 lightning and a few days ago it started vibrating and we tought it was a cop or maybe even a plug but found out that the torque converter is bad and it caused a vibration on the truck. he doesnt drag race just regular driving and on occasion might race an import or two. which one do you all recommend? hes making like 425 at the wheels and 515+tq.

thanks in advance

For what it sounds like he uses it for, check out Chickenears Performance, They have a wide selection of convertors, and stall speeds, sounds like your buddy can do just the slight upgrade, and probiblly not much more than a 2400 stall

Cool

HI!... I went through 4 converters in my truck before getting smart and buying a PI (Precision Industries)3000 stall converter. It's triple disc. Make sure you get one with anti-ballooning plates.

I too went with the PI 2600 stall (triple disc). Other than PI and Circle D....I am not sure I would put alot of trust in them

I ran a Pro Torque in my old truck. Worked VERY good and had several 10 sec passes on it. They are great people too! -Mat-

I've had two Factory Tech Total Dominator Convertors and Loved them both,
however there's no doubt the PI I have now is a better built (and lasting)
