I have been floating around this forum for a while now. After considering a few car choices, I have finally made up my mind to buy a Lightning.

Can you, chicagoland Lightning owners, recommend a dealer in the area? Also, what is the likelyhood of paying close to dealer invoice on the truck? Thanks.

 

Rzk, I can tell you most dealers around here want list for a 2001. THere is a dealer in Libertyville, Il called Sessler ford that had 2 black 2000 lightnings brand new will take $28,100. Bob.

 

uftering Ford in East Peoria had a 2000 L with 4000 miles for under $26,000 I believe.

 

River Oaks Ford in Calumet City has 2 red 2001 L's. I'm sure you can work them down on the sticker....ask for Tom Julian(new car mgr.)

if your talking about the dealership that has saleens out front they sold the L.

they still have a red L out front (2001)
i was up there last weekend and test drove it. they want sticker for it and no more.

they also had a black prowler on the showroom.only wanted $32,000 for it.

the guy told me we could test drive it. i sat in it and i couldnt even move the steering wheel. my legs went up over it.

i have a cousin that lives up there that is either buying a lightning or a saleen. i am trying to get him to get the lightning so we can race when mine comes in.

when we were pulling out we saw a white 99 L getting off the interstate. he was in his 99 black gt stang. it has 300 hp. anyways we drive 25 mph in a 55mph zone for about 5 minutes so he can catch up.

finally he pulls next to us and we take off. without any trouble he pulls on us like it was nothing.

i think this convinced him to buy the lightning.

the guy in the L just looked over and waved and we laughed and he laughed back.

 

I bought my 2000 L from Arlington Hts Ford for $500 under list. a year ago. They'll probably do the same for a 2001. Email me back for the sales person. 38chevy@interaccess.com

 

I'll tell you right now, don't even waste your time at nives (in orland, 159th and 80th) if you want a 2001, they want 2000 over sticker for them. they have a black 01 in now, they also have a very very nice silver 00 with only 3500 miles on it. some guy had a baby and had to get rid of it for an extened cab. I don't know what they want for it, but its in great shape. like brand new.
