pump volts

okay i have replaced my resistor, relay, filter, fuel line hose while trouble shooting my fuel pressure problem. Now i need to check the volts going to each pump to see if one of them is not working. I am sure i need a volt meter but how/where do i check? thanks

Where in the wiring are you going to check for voltage?

we checked the voltage at the power wires going into the tank. the meter is showing 11.3 volts at this location.

to ck the pump voltage correctly going thru a resistor there has to be a load on it so if you are getting 11.3 volts no load bypass the resistor and see if it still is the same if so there is a problem need to have Battery volts then. You can put the sender in a pail of kerosene and see how the pumps are working.lot less flammable and still give a good idea on the volume and voltages.Stan

If you're running after market 255 dual Walbro pumps you should bypass the resistor inorder to ensure they're getting a full 12 volts otherwise the pumps will fail prematurely is what I here.
