Intercooler pump...

Hmm, the other day I noticed my intercooler fluid wasn't swishing around like mad in its tank, so I'd like to check that the intercooler pump is working okay.

Can one of you guys who's got the manual switch let me know what relay off hand I can short across to kick the intercooler pump on with the truck off? Just want to see if its working right and its just that the tank is very full that I don't notice the movement.

I can hear mine. If I turn the key on but not start the truck, I can hear mine start cycling the fluid.

Just FYI, the pump comes on based on IAT2 temps, so on cold starts it won't be on. Let the truck get up to operating temp, and then check for flow.

That's why I was asking about where/if I can easily short-bypass that.

They do seem to die frequently from brush wear out, but before you shell out your hard earned cash, CHECK and make sure that the electrical plug in connector is makeing good contact, and is clean and tight. this also is an issue that happens and can be easily overlooked...

Just a word of advice... These pumps get pretty dirty on the inside. It's good preventive maintenance to disassemble them and clean them once in a while. It's very simple to do. Just remove the pump from the vehicle, remove the screws that hold the pump head on the body, carefully remove the head (making note of the o-rings and their location), blow out all the black dust and scrub away any gunk, reassemble and you're done.
