Tranny shifting hard

I've had my Lightning for about two months now and all of a sudden today on my way home from work i was heavy on the gas after a turn-around and it banged 2nd gear like you wouldn't believe(wasn't even WOT). Now it's hitting every gear hard and i don't know why. Any one have this problem?

Check your MAF and IAC connections. When I installed my CAI, I forgot to plug back in the MAF connection, and it was shifting hard as hell for some reason.

Mine does this. It starts out shifting extremely hard to shifting extremely soft at other times. When it does this the OD flashes off and on. It has progressively gotten worse in the past several months.. My third gear has started to slip more and more often. I have checked everything from fluid, to wiring, and even changing to a different tune. Next step is to rebuild the transmission by Circle D in October along with a stall... Good Luck.....

My 03 brand new was the smoothest running and shifting vehicle I ever driven, lol. And actually, my 04 shifts so smooth you really can't feel it when normal driving... it's sweet!

This happens sometimes when a spring in the shifter bore breaks in the valve body. If its only from 1st to second , it very well may be just that.

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna check my MAF and IAC tomorrow and i'll let u no. It has seemed to be a little better but right when i think its fixed it will start up on me again like someone else mentioned. So hopefully it's something simple.
