For me, I would spend the bucks on: a chip, filter set up, keyles entry key pad, etc., etc. before spending money on a remote starter. But I don't live in the cold where one might be needed.

For whats it worth, I had the Ford Alarm installed before I took delivery. I have had nothing but trouble with the remote unlocking and disarming the truck. I have replaced the batteries every 3 months and in desperation, ordered a new remote at a cost to me of $48.00. That, after I took it to the dealership twice and they said it works fine. So IMHO if you want a remote starter, buy an aftermarket one.

Question ford's remote start

Finally got my new truck Saturday. Took seven weeks to get after ordering. It came with the keyless entry. Dealership has a remote start for it that uses only one control unit to use it all. Meaning both entry and starting. They want $389 for it installed. Any one have it and if so what they think of it? I could get an after market one for it with the kit to by pass the anti theft feature. Thanks. 20 miles on the truck and many more to come with lots more mods to come.
