Wish I had that kind of cash when I was 18... On second thought, let's not feed the troll.

Now I have to jump in.

I deal in Vipers and NSX's. I had my personal Viper in my garage for 4 mos and put 500 miles on it total. A 96' GTS is way badder than a L, but I just could not take always worrying about the thing. Plus the L seemed as fast and is so much easier to drive. RT/10's in my opinion, are very unlivable day to day. Neat car, dumb kid. Everyone's gonna think it's his dad's and I hated that. Should have bought an L and a Yamaha R1 or Ducati 996S.

I sold my personal Viper to my neighbor and now hes thinking of trading it for my lightning. Man I love selling this bad assed ****!

Hey, I just noticed that a couple of you live near my grandparents and cousins in Clinton Township. What high school did you go to, I am not super familiar with the area so I don't know if there are more than one high schools, but hey you might know them. Wierd coincidence... oh and my cousin definitely does not own a lightning or a viper so it's not that guy! He's not equipped to handle a vehicle like those.

The Original RT/10's were awesome. Granted, performance wise..they are not as impressive as the more recent models....the styling was pure.

Then they bastardized the beauty. Dodge robbed it of its requisit leg burning side pipes, added a roof, windows and door handles, random hideous hood louvres, took away the great wheels, just ruined the car.

And now the new model comign out is just the ultimate insult. It looks just plain terrible. I'm sorry, but the new model coming out just isn't a viper.

But one of those originals...oh yeah...I'd love to have one of those puppies.

I just have to ask,
what is an 18 year olds' insurance rate for a viper? and I know, it doesen't matter, but just curious.
I have some friends that also belong to the "Lucky Sperm Club", so I (not even close really)understand their plight in life.
However, IF I was somehow voted in, or...?, to that club, I would not pass GO, I would head straight to the Porsche dealer to pick up my '01 911 Turbo so I could waste 99% of the cars on the road - bone stock! and its practical! unlike the new Carrera GT. When something came along that beat me I would merely send it to Andial and ask for MORE MORE MORE POWER.

insurance on a viper is very expensive if you can get it.

i sometimes have a hard time believing all these kids getting these cars and trucks.

when i was a sophomore in high school i got a viper 96 r/t 10 for my 16th birthday. i put 10,000 down and my parents paid the rest.

when it came time to insure it the insurance company refused so my parents took them to court and they wound up having to insure it.

i dont remember exactly how much it was but it was close to $7000 a year.

when i turned 19 in 99 i traded it in and bought my black lightning.

21 now and would never drive a r/t 10 again.
i have thought about getting a GTS several times but i just hate driving cars after having the L.

im just glad i am succesful enough, or lucky enough to have taken dads land developing business, to be able to buy my kids whatever car or truck they want.

I take Ford over Chrysler any day. I think the Viper is a slick ride, but there is no chance in hell I would buy one!!

Where the hell does an 18 year old get the $$ to buy a car like that?? Or a Lightning for that matter? Bet you someone is doing something they're not supposed to...
